I believe it. This kid is WAY too talented to be a walk-on. We need to give him a scholarship before itâs too late. I dont care what he said in interviews, a full ride is hard to pass up.

Which might even be a better reason to give him the scholarship. Why not reward loyalty instead of disloyalty?

Its not like Harris is paying out of state tuition. His parents sent him to a private Christian academy. So I would imagine that can foot the bill for his first year here.

Harris is not going to Ohio State. Thad Matta is not the kind of character that would swipe a Charlotte recruit in July. Besides, heâs probably too busy getting verbals for his 2010 class. 
Still, Iâm growing more and more inclined to give Harris a scholarship. If we give one now, weâll likely have 2 open scholarships for a couple 4 year guys in 2008. If we wait until 2008, weâll still have 2 open schollies for 2008 (assuming Harris is rewarded). The only difference is that in the first scenario, Harris would not have to pay for college.
The reason I was so reluctant for so long is that I wanted to see why Harris was only being offered scholarships from mid-majors. Comparing how Harris has looked in summer league to how most high school kids look in their recruiting vids - Iâd agree that Harris looks just as deserving of a scholarship. Iâd have no problem either way at this point.

From that post, it looks like you hacve not been following Niners basketball for very long. Anyone who has been following the program for 8+ years knows that Harris leaving at the last second is exactly the type of thing that happens every single offseason. We have the worst offseason luck of any D1 program, I am convinced of that. I hope Harris stays, but it would not surprise me in the least bit if he bolted sometime soon⌠itâs just the kind of thing we have to deal with every year.

Oh, Iâve been here all along. I just donât think this legend guy has near the credibility. Trust me, I know the off-season misfortune that has defied all laws of statistical probability. I just donât believe Harris to be the type to leave and think this guy is yanking the chains around.

WTF? Carlos williams was like the #2 rated JUCO player in the nation, Booker was top 150, and Phaler was a top 75 kid who signed with UCLA. If you were the coach, would you not have gone after them?Hndsight is always 20/20. Yeah looking back on it now, Booker and Carlos were busts, but Phaler at least shows flashes of being a solid role player.
And Barnett? How many times have you seen him play? He was the starting shooting guard on arguably the best team in the state. Maybe he is a âwork in progressâ, but how the hell does he not deserve his scholarship?
I agree with giving Dijuan a scholarship.
Keep in mind eason, Carlos looked phenomenal in the summer league too, I watched him play in it. Iâm sure Dijuan is ten times the player Carlos is, but you canât say âoh but Dijuan is doing awesome so far, heâs going to be better than Carlos.â
i agree but the school does not seem to want to give him a scholarship for some reason and he is good i agree but if we dont do it soon other options might come up
This seems like it might be a relative of Dijuans. And if it is I would be doing the same thing for a relative of mine, trying to sell him up to get a scholarship. But I assure you, Bobby will not change his opinion by so called threats or ultimatums. In fact, Dijuan will only get in Bobbyâs dog house if this is the case. Ask Carlos how that went for him?
