This is probably a question for Lutz Live, but I dunno if I wanna mention the G word on air…
If Bowden had stayed healthy and Gerrity had… stayed…
Do you think Bobby 1) should have and 2) would have employed a lot of full court pressure this season?
I’d like to think we would have because of our depth and decent athleticism. We do play some ball pressure, but I’m talking about old school 40 minutes of hell pressure…
And I ask this knowing that some fans believe we’d suck at it anyway and just give up easy buckets everytime.
Great question to ask… I think we have the depth to press all game long right now. But do we do it well enough to NOT give up easy buckets? NO!!! If Im a coach, I would always press if I knew my players could handle it … right now we cant
In a million yers I never would have thought the weak link in any Lutz team would be the Guards… never.
Lutz can answet that question a couple of ways. The correct way is to say he is only thinking about the guys who are playing… The other is to give you his honest answer…
It’s a fair question to ask and not having Gerrity hurts. But honestly, is that going to be the excuse we pin this year, “Well had Gerrity not left we would have won so it’s his fault.” I don’t know, after a while these excuses just seem to be that, an excuse. Hoping for better on Saturday!!

Bowden’s loss is much much much much much much bigger than Gerrity. Since we can’t hit an outside shot, the other team’s transition defense is to run to the paint and camp out.
Don’t we remember that Gerrity’s press defense was not very good? We need an outside shooter a little more to play better transition basketball.
I see your point Cakewalk and I agree with it in part, I do. I just have run out of patience for having to look for an excuse for losing to teams like ODU and App St. As I said, I see your point and agree that a shooter would help, no denying that, just don’t have the patience for some of these excuses after 3 years. Really, really, really, hoping for better later in the year.
What if Beasley had come and done his one year in Charlotte, and this year we had Cameron Tatum and Kenyon Harmon as sophs? We’d be SET in the guard division, plus we probly would have attracted some other major talents as freshmen.
