This may be the biggest decision ever to be made by baseball. Who knows how many players have done roids. My opinion is that this is far worse than what Pete Rose did, and equal to that of the Black Sox who threw the 1919 series. My bet is that Bud Selig will do next to nothing though. He has no balls, and the owners probably will wager that they’ll lose less money at the gate by doing nothing than giving these players what they deserve. The witch hunt to find out if roid use was prevelant is over, now a new one begins to find out who the guilty parties are.
It’s just sad, but legally, they cannot do anything. Landis would have never let this get so far and honestly it pretty much sums up the sport.
What I can’t wait to see is what happens to these guys’ bodies in the long run. Does anyone remember Lyle Alzado, Ken Caminiti?
What a sad state of affairs…
You know, the two I was choosing between was putting an asterisk beside their name and lifetime ban.
If they did it in the past, then put a star. If they do it in the future, ban them.
By this point, they’ve been warned and they should know the consequences more than ever. They’re cheating. They know they’re cheating. Tough luck.
