Tigers' Galarraga screwed out of perfect game

The call will not be overturned. Just announced

Sucks.

I really disagree with Bud Selig’s decision on this. I understand he doesn’t want to undermine the “human error” aspect to umpiring, but this was blatant and easy to see.

However, the Tigers did not ask for it to be reversed, so you can’t really blame Selig for not reversing the call.

i don’t see how Selig could overturn this. it would result into a “slippery slope” in which it opens up different interpretations as to which is a critical play in a game. obviously this is historic but who is to say that a perfect game is more inportant than a game clinching a playoff bearth or whatever. difficult decision to make but i think bud made the correct call.
