I like the line up with Withers and Drayton. That caused some major matchup problems for DePaul. It also gave us a longer, athletic body in there as opposed to Iti. That’s a nice combo to crash the boards.
Thank God Iti didn’t play the 2nd half. That kid would have gotten stepped on.

Box score had Iti at 5 minutes played. Did he actually start the game and only play 5 minutes? That just isn't good at all.
Trust me...if you would have seen him play those 5 mins...you might have committed suicide :o
I still wait for Iti to turn into another Jermaine Parker in his last year as a Niner. Nasty blocks, nice soft baby hooks, and powerful dunks. We could go far if he ever decided to show up as Jermaine “Condor” Parker of the Metro conference days.
Bobby said in the post game that he didn’t think Iti was a good matchup with their quicker big men. I have to agree with what someone else said that Iti is gone after this year, he’s got dollar signs in his eyes and he isn’t going anywhere playing here.
He has a job at McDonald’s waiting on him? Seriously, he isn’t good enough to be a first round pick and second round is no guaranteed money. If he leaves now, he is developmental league material at best. He needs hard work & confidence, neither of which he can get in the NBA at this point.
He’s gone. He can play overseas just because of his size. NBA is not a consideration, he’s not even close to that level. Goes to show you, don’t believe the “experts” all the time.
Basden is the man. Just thought I would throw that in.
My favorite line up was Mitch, BP, EB, Curtis and Nance. Nance showed last night that he deserve to start and we were a much better team with him in there. I hope Lutz has seen the light and the Iti experiment is over. Start Nance and let’s go to the sweet sixteen.
Iti is a sophmore…off his ass. If he wasn’t so hyped coming in we would be cool with him. That was the worst night he has had. I think that 8ft brick early in the game sealed the deal for Bobby last night, but there will be a game that he comes up huge for us down the stretch. With Mitch getting to the basket now(injury free), Curt on the block, and Eddie taking it strong Iti should and will concentrate on picking up the garbage and playing D. We do need him believe it or not. Twenty minutes a game at least.

Brick? That was an airball. His play was bad....but his attitude is worse. Right after the airball he came down and was whistled for a foul for throwing an elbow. That sealed it for him.

You need to get out of his ass... There is no way he should be playing ahead of Nance. Give him 15 to 18 minutes in the rotation, but he should not start and defintetly shouldn't be in at the end.
Absolutely can’t be in at the end of games. Liability at the line. But, we do need 15 minutes out of him most nights to help with the rotation and keep other guys fresh.
I don’t think so many people would be on his ass if his dumbass didn’t think he could go pro last.

When he pulled EJ for Nance, I was a little worried, because EJ sparked the run. But when Nance came in, we started to put them away. Chris plays D so hard, he's not a great one on one defender against Greer (obviously), but that is our best team defense. They all know their position and they get after the ball.
That said, this was probably EJ’s best game. He’s become a good rebounder, which is the best news I’ve had in a while. If he can rebound like that from here on out, we’ll be very difficult to beat. That one possession where we got about 6 offensive rebounds was amazing. Stuff like that is what won us the game ultimately.
I would like to see the lineup of Mitch, Eddie, EJ, Curt and Chris a little too. There’s a line up that could really push the ball offensively.
Last night’s game was a throwback to the style of play Lutz used in his first season as head coach. I felt like we went back in time for one night. I love when a team is forced to play a style of ball it does not prefer, but can grind out a win. That’s why I’m complaint free after this one. It was huge.
