56! Damn. I shot an 80 once… ;D
Lookin forward to seeing some NINERS kickin some tiger ass on the tour one of these days.
A round like that is absolutely phenomenal, regardless of whether the course is 5800 yards or 7500. Let’s hope he can carry that momentum into his 1:30 tee time today in Ohio. He’s currently 51st on the Nationwide money list, needs to get inside the top 25 for his tour card.
Also, Corey Nagy finished T31 in his first professional event last week on the eGolf tour. But former Niner Matt Mincer had the best showing finishing T14. Both guys are -4 after the first round this week in High Point (eGolf tournaments are Wed-Sat), 6 off the lead. Here’s the daily scoreboard if interested:

Murphy finished 15th last week. And Jeff Curl finished T45.
Nagy and Mincer are playing another “pro” event this week. Something at Forest Oaks. Leader shot 62 and our guys had 68.
They both tore it up today in High Point-Nagy with another 68 (T6) and Mincer with a bogey-free 67 (T4). Half the field is still on the course, but they’ve definitely gotten themselves into contention for the final two rounds.
And it’s not like the winners of these events aren’t making much money-$34,000 is the average winnings per eGolf event.
Great job by our Niner golfers. I hope the school is keeping in touch with these guys.
Would love to see any of these guys get their PGA tour cards. Would give me another reason to watch Golf.
Mincer and Nagy have a way to go, if you consider one of the “traditional” routes… which is, earning your PGA Tour card either through Q-School, or earning it by being in the Top 25 money winners on the Nationwide Tour at the end of the year. So Trevor is not all that far off, considering he seems to be “a regular” on the Nationwide Tour…
clt says murphy is only 4 off going into sunday.
4 off is not that much for someone with the ability to shoot a 57 when he gets hot.
Great round but not enough. Finished 7th and put himself in a good spot on money list
Murphy birdied 3 of his last 4 holes to shoot that 67. $25,800 more in the bank puts him 40th on the money list. Keep it goin Trevor!!
This! I think another top 10 might put him into the Top25, or atleast very close. Go Trevor. I want to see you on the PGA Tour soon! Don’t forget to rep the Niners when you get there thought!
How much did Mincer and Nagy get for their weekend work? Is there a site that follows the E-Tour?
http://tarheel.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/tarheel10/event/tarheel1014/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
Shows Nagy with around $2300 for the weekend.

That puts Nagy at about $4300 after his first 2 events and 2 made-cuts. Mincer has played in 12 events and made 9 cuts, earning over $23,000. He’s got 2 top 15’s in his last two starts.
It may not be the PGA Tour, but it’s nice to keep up with some Niners playing on a professional level. You gotta start somewhere.
