Watching Dark Matter on AppleTV. Enjoying it so far. Had read the book before.
Bodkin on Netflix was highly entertaining. There was even a McGruber moment.
Curious if anyone has watched Three Body Problem? I haven’t, but it’s on my list.

I naively started watching this because of the generally well received reviews. It wasn’t until about halfway through the first episode that I realized it was the same story.
After I realized that, I too thought why in the world would you remake it. Then I looked it up and realized it’s been 25 years since the Damon version. My guess is that they are trying to appeal to a 20-35 crowd, that are more likely to watch the “new” streaming version than to go back and watch the 25 year old movie version.
Also agree on how do you improve on the original cast. Of the 5 you mentioned, I’d say our intuition was correct on 4 of them. The new Dickie character may be the only exception, he might be better than Law.
Surely there is an improvement over Paltrow.
I dunno man. She is a flake these days but she was a stunner back then. She oozed both beauty and class. 9.9/10.
Can’t find a picture to sell my point but she was the perfect casting for that role.
