It makes more sense but isnāt a great name for a show. Too generic sounding.
Theyāre both spoiled brats so far (think Iām on episode 3)ā¦ Do they remain that way, or do they actually get character arcs?

They stay that way. They give them both sort of a redeeming story line together starting about halfway throughā¦probably because they could see how irritating they were to the show. But even with the redeeming story lineā¦their characters continue to be the same irritating trash.
Billy Bob ending that prayer at the dinner table was bad Santa-esk
I donāt mind the wife and daughter, plays well with Billy bobs character. You donāt want a fruit parfait for breakfast?
I think thatās part of the appeal. Itās memorable because itās short and simple.
Also, is the movie āThere will be bloodā the ultimate landman movie???
I finished Landman. A little haphazardly which may be coloring my review.
I thought it turned a little too soap opera-ish towards the end. I like my stories to have definite progression and not just be episodic with no endgame.
Billy Bobās character did move forward and yes his last major storyline was intense. Itās the rest of it that fell flat.
I also wasnāt sure that the coyote thing at the end landed the way it was intended toā¦ Did I just not get it?
Yeah i didnt get that eitherā¦wasnt sure if it was because i wasnt paying close enough attention to something in the show or if it just missed the mark.

Yeah.
I realized I had it because my wife signed up for Walmart+ on some kind of cheap annual promotion, so Iām not paying for it separately.

I mainly have Paramount + for soccer.

If you have a mid tier Spectrum subscriptionā¦they now give you access to a number of streaming services for free. Disney +, MAX and Paramount + are 3 I know of for sure. So they basically come with your Spectrum package now.

The wife and daughter and their storylines are a distraction from what is the essence and best part of the series. They are insufferable and would be better off left out of the show.
And the coyote at the endā¦I took that to mean that in most places coyotes are feared predators but in Texas they can easily get shot and killed by the lady next door with the gun (like the earlier one). He was giving the coyote advice that even the coyoteā¦the predatorā¦better be careful there.
But that advice hits home in his business too. No matter who you are or who you think you areā¦you better be looking out for yourself no matter what. The predator is also the prey.

I turn it on like two months out of the year. Catch up, then turn it off. You can only really watch one or two shows at a time meaningfully anyway. Itās not canceling cable. Itās super easy and prevents waste.
I can see some women criticizing the shallowness of those characters. They are fun to look at but boy are they one note.
I also got bored of the Cooper / Arianna storyline. It kinda stalled and it felt REALLY soap opera-ish.
The Billy Bob part of the show is freaking good though.
Cooper and Ariana is annoying. Wife and daughterā¦ Annoyingā¦
BBT is great. Jon Hamm was great.
Iād give the show 7 out of 10.

Every time Netflix raisies prices, people online say itās time to cancel, and then Netfix gains more subscribers. Interesting how that works.
Itās the crap my wife watches that keeps me hooked. Thereās not enough content on there to justify the price for me. I suspect many are in the same boat with a spouse or kids that are addicted to it.
