Myself and some other influential students have started an initiative called Niner Traditions. We intend to promote to the creation and revitalization of University Traditions through the cooperation of student leaders, student organizations, and alumni. We will eventually be hosting a few round table like discussions where we can discuss these issues and how to go about them.
On August 31st (from 11:30am-2:30pm between CHHS and Co-Ed) we are hosting an event called âTwo 'Til Tailgateâ in which we have constructed a field goal post out of PVC piping. We have partnered with Athletics, the Alumni Affairs Office and the Universityâs Marketing department and we will be giving away prizes based on successful completion of the challenges.
This event is intended mainly to attract the attention of the commuter that would normally just go back to his car but alumni are more than welcome to come out if they please.
We will be hosting events in the future that are more geared towards alumni. There will probably be a few in the week before âMajor Madnessâ.
Iâm still planning to be at the stadium 12-1:00 to check out the ambiance, so I may wander over that way too. Hope a codger like me there wonât look too creepy, but man Iâm stoked!
When we schedule the roundtable discussion we will be sure to post it on NN.net. It will also go through John Snelsire in the Alumni Affairs office. There should be multiple means of communication for feedback/involvement from alumni.
