Two 'Til Tailgate

Hi Everyone,

Myself and some other influential students have started an initiative called Niner Traditions. We intend to promote to the creation and revitalization of University Traditions through the cooperation of student leaders, student organizations, and alumni. We will eventually be hosting a few round table like discussions where we can discuss these issues and how to go about them.

On August 31st (from 11:30am-2:30pm between CHHS and Co-Ed) we are hosting an event called “Two 'Til Tailgate” in which we have constructed a field goal post out of PVC piping. We have partnered with Athletics, the Alumni Affairs Office and the University’s Marketing department and we will be giving away prizes based on successful completion of the challenges.

This event is intended mainly to attract the attention of the commuter that would normally just go back to his car but alumni are more than welcome to come out if they please.

We will be hosting events in the future that are more geared towards alumni. There will probably be a few in the week before “Major Madness”.

Be sure to tweet us at @NinerTraditions and like our facebook page at the following link: http://www.facebook.com/ninertraditions

Facebook event is at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145718608848766

We have a very basic website for the time being at ninertraditions.com. It will be updated shortly.

There is also a short blurb rotating on the University’s main site.

Thanks,
-Matt

Mucho approval of this.

I like this a lot. Best of luck to you and let us know how we can help. I’m sure I will be at your events, schedule permitting.

I’m still planning to be at the stadium 12-1:00 to check out the ambiance, so I may wander over that way too. Hope a codger like me there won’t look too creepy, but man I’m stoked!

Thanks.

When we schedule the roundtable discussion we will be sure to post it on NN.net. It will also go through John Snelsire in the Alumni Affairs office. There should be multiple means of communication for feedback/involvement from alumni.

bump

bump. Read the article in the Niner Times tomorrow on the event.

Good. I posted last week that SI just had CFB traditions. Also, Maxim just had it as well. We have 2 weeks to get traditions in time for Campbell.

Love the idea behind Niner Traditions, keep going, get some new blood on NN.N (and maybe GTG?) while you’re out there!

Please post some pix of this event for us NINERS who could not attend. Thanks!

A dozen or so photos have been placed on the Niner Traditions facebook page at Redirecting...

More photos were taken, most of which were by Niner Media. These photos should be available at a later time.
