So that’s what they do when they’re not pulling people over for going 21 in a 20.

Or sitting side by side talking to other cops in the back of parking lots.

Rumor has it that she took away his new UNC-Chapel Hill hat and he became furious.

We had great police officers back in the day. You could walk across campus with open alcohol, etc.

We were the 2nd or 3rd school in the nation to streak when that craze hit (Western was 1st) and the campus police organized the crowd of spectators, told us when they would be cutting the lights, and made sure the local TV stations had a good location for the 11:00 news.

They did give out those parking tickets, though… and you could not graduate until you paid them off.

The parking tickets used to come from students. There is a paid on-campus job set up for students. I was at a baseball game this spring and saw 2 students on the golf cart with a book of tix in their hands. I guess they still do that. Of course, I’m sure the officers still have the right to tix as well.

I had a police scanner and they would often stop at our apartment in Hunt Village and listen to the Mecklenburg County calls. Once a dispatcher sent out a call of a female screaming near the path from McEniry to Hunt Village through the gardens which we heard over the scanner. 8 of us from the two side-by-side apartments tore out the door and were down there searching before they arrived. Fortunately, nothing/no one was discovered and we received many thanks from them.

No she just started antagonizing him by saying “What? You think you work at Chapel Hill?! That ‘UNC’ doesn’t make it Chapel Hill! Heck! We’re 2 hours from Chapel Hill! Stop fooling yourself. You’ll never be big time.”

You think ECU is any better? Chi Phi just got kicked in the tooth!

Well, it looks like they were already in trouble to begin with. I have to wonder if the University knew about this and is trying to clean up their image by making an example of Chi Phi. IMO it only adds to their image as a party destination first and academic second. Anyway, that was their image a decade ago, I don’t know if it’s changed since.
