I didn’t know that UNCW was ineligible for the NCAA’s next year. I guess the transfers would not have to sit a year in that case.

They don’t sound like they ‘fit’ with Major’s style.

Both showed flashes, although neither shot 40 percent from the field or showed they could ably defend the CAA’s elite guards.

I watched a ton of the Seahawks games this season and those guys can play. That hurts them real bad, they could have been real good in another year or two if they had all stuck around.

Wouldn’t mind Smith or Simmons to land here at all.

Welcome to the NN sleeper cell Nugget.

I haven’t seen most of the guys play. Rendleman, I have seen, and he’s pretty good. Long, athletic 6’7 forward. Good rebounder. He would have gotten PT for us last year, amd probably would have started.

The other guys dont sound like Major’s type:

Smith (6-foot-1, 160 pounds) scored 425 points, second all-time for a UNCW freshman, and broke Brett Blizzard’s rookie single-game scoring record with a 32-point outburst in a December loss at Wake Forest. But his production tailed off in the final month. He was 15-for-57 (26.3 percent) from the field in the Seahawks’ last six games.

Sounds awfully damn familiar.

Wait crappy shooting from the field - isn’t that Major’s type? ;D

Do we want someone from a 5-13 CAA, 10-21 overall team? Don’t we want someone from a BETTER team?

Exactly. This is the same team that lost to Towson (1-31).

Other than Rendleman they didn’t look very good at all last season. I saw them get smoked by Manhattan in person and it was pretty awful.

Too bad we didn’t hire Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Found this interesting:

Head coach Buzz Peterson is confident all three players will leave the program.
Sounds like Buzz isn't too broken up about it!

BTW, I’m with 2002 - if Rendleman were one of the players leaving, then I’d be interested. Also see that Rendleman will consider at redshirt in 2012-13 if UNCW is sanctioned by the NCAA per the APR.

Chris Braswell has been on a losing team his last 2 seasons. Sometimes circumstances/supporting cast don’t let a played shine through all the way.

That’s not to say I actually want a transfer from UNCW. I have not inspected these players either.

UNCW were bad this season, however they were a very very young with a team consisting of eight freshman. Three of their top six scorers were freshman and two others were sohpomores.

With Ingram now on board, I’m not sure there would be much room for 5’11 Adam Smith, who likes to get his shots up. 6’2 KK Simmons and 6’5 Morales would be nice to add some depth to the bench, but I doubt they want to be playing spot minutes after heavy minutes last season.

All three can play though. Don’t look at the Seahawks record as any indication.
