Seems like a decent team.

At a certain point Bobby will bring in all the 3rd stringers because we have class and don’t want to destroy them. So it probably won’t be over 30, or maybe even 20.
Season Outlook 2006-2007
The 2006-07 edition is looking to improve on its 2nd place finish in the OUA West last year. With its core of players returning, the Gryphs are the favourites to come out of the West this season. OUA first team all-star JR Bailey will look to take his game to Player of the Year honours. It’s the guard play that should be the deciding factor in this team’s quest for a national championship. Nick Pankerichan will anchor the point guard spot and is being backed up by much improved 2nd year guard Charles Agyemang. The wings will be led by 5th year senior Aron Bariagabre and 2nd year all-rookie team player Jay Mott, but depth is the key to this group with transfer Borko Popic, newcomer Samuel Toluwase and 4th year stalwart Jon Gurnham rounding out the guard play. The Gryphs will look to the young forward group of Duncan Milne, Seb Kasiuk and Luke Nevar to step up their level of play.

2005-2006
Under the direction of Chris O’Rourke, OUA West Division Coach of the Year, the Gryphs posted a 14-8 record for 3rd place in one of the most
competitive divisions in the CIS. In OUA West quarter-final play, the Gryphons failed to capitalize on home court advantage dropping an 81-74 decision
to Laurier with a 10-12 mark. J.R. Bailey was named a First Team All-Star. The Gryphons’ top scorer was 10th in league scoring with 14.52 points per
game and 4th in OUA rebounding with 8.19 rebounds per game. J.S. Esposito earned Second Team distinction with 10.41 points per game. Freshman
guard Jay Mott was selected to the OUA West All-Rookie team. He made an instant impression with 6.64 points per game.

OUA Awards
OUA 1st Team All-Stars - J.R. Bailey
OUA 2nd Team All-Stars - J.S. Esposito
OUA West All-Rookie team - Jay Mott
OUA West Division Coach of the Year - Chris O’Rourke

Team Awards
MVP of the Year - J.S. Esposito
MIP of the Year - Jonathan Gurnham
UofG was 1 of 3 teams we beat in Toronto 2 years back.
Guelph might want revenge.

The problem is, our third stringers whoop ass… :shades:

Spoken fo rthe TRUTH

In all honesty, who are we going to put in when we are up by 30? Gordon is a typical walk-on (no offense Trav), Church has a nice shot and decent handles, but then we have to have three others. Ok, so now we throw in Booker, Dewhurst, and maybe Phaler? So we are up by 30 and have: Church, Dewhurst, Phaler, Gordon, and Booker… yeah the scoring isnt going to stop :shades:

I saw Guelph play UNC-R last year. They were a pretty good team, but I don’t recall the outcome ever being uncertain.

Word! I love the depth Bobby usually has on the bench. I like the philosophy of having a bunch of good guys rather than 4-5 great guys who get wore out.
