I will be there.
Watching Channel 36 news tonight, which was being broadcast from the NASCAR Hall of Fame. During one segment, Sonya Gantt interviewed a member of Love and Theft, Eric Gunderson, as his band was part of the festivities at today’s grand opening. Anyway, Gantt said he attended UNCC (or, as the L&T website puts it - “Univeristy of North Carolina-Charlotte”!). Not sure if he’s a grad, but sounds his musicial career with Love and Theft has really taken off as of late. Since I’m not much of a country music fan, not familiar with them, but always good to hear about a fellow alum doing well.
This Friday night at Alley Cat 106.5 is holding the final round of their Speed Street contest. My friends band, Damsel Down will be playing with Deadstar Blues and The Alpha Theory. The winner of this round will open for Everclear on the Friday night during Speed Street. The show starts around 9. 18+ and free before 11pm.
Too bad Everclear is awful now. I saw them on tour after Art revived the band. It was terrible. They used to be amazing live too. Very frantic energy, probably generated from Criag and Art’s hatred of each other. But that shit was awesome.
I’ll be at Visulite tomorrow night for Pat McGee Band…anybody else going?

screams like a little girl
I’ll be doing a full update of the initial post (concert calendar) tomorrow sometime. Kinda took a little summer break. Big announcement coming Friday also.
Yeah I’ve heard rumblings about a big announcement coming Friday. How big can it be? I’m skeptical of such hype, but if you know facts or concrete rumors, I’d love to know!
Sublime with Rome with Matisyahu and The Dirty Heads.
Translation: Who wants to sit on the lawn and be REALLY high for about 4 hours?
Smashing Pumpkins-7/16 Fillmore
Really wish Chamberlin was still in the band…might go anyways depending on ticket prices.
My guess on the big news is U2
Live Nation is doing no fees for summer concerts at Verizon and Uptown Amphitheater (now RoadRunner Amphitheater). Think I might be getting tickets to see The Black Crowes now.

Wait, what? Chamberlin left? Iha and the bassist never re-joined, did they? So “The Smashing Pumpkins” are Corgan and three random people? Corgan is a douche.
