**UPDATED**10/15 Stadium Construction Tailgate

DATE CHANGE***
So we have decided the best way to tailgate is in conjuntion with another Niner Event. So baseball is playing this day - baseball+stadium construction = great tailgate.

So we have talked about tailgating the construction of the stadium since we knew we were getting a stadium. Word is that we should have some concrete and what not soon. In the construction thread there was discussion of doing the first one of these early october. So with consultation from Mr, Bo - here we go!

What: Stadium Construction Tailgate
Where: DUH the stadium construction site
When: 10/15/11
Time: TBD - what do you guys want? Early or afternoon?
Who: All NinerNation

Do we need to give the school a heads up we are doing this? Bo? Alumnus? Either of you know?

Unfortunately I’ll be in Brooklyn with the hipsters that weekend. Otherwise, I would have been able to make it.

I am sure this is the first of a few of these so you will have another chance!

Oh yeah! I’ll absolutely be there next go-around!

I will say that you definitely either want to keep this on the DL or prepare yourself for massive amounts of red tape that is typical when you add fun+school spirit.

2 things -

First does this mean you are in?

Second is you are right about the red tape - but on the DL? Too late we all know that AD watches NNN like hawks.

Why is this? Who does it? Will this change when we actually have a football team? Who do we contact about it?

Why? - IMO 2 fold One, we have non Niners in key offices who don’t understand why people would want to do this. Two, the school doesn’t like anyone who does things outside of their sphere of control so they exert control when they can.

Who? - The AD and the Admin.

Change? - I doubt it. Not until we have some new leadership and fresh thinking.

Contact? - Good luck! Say too much and you will get called into the pricipals office.

No unfortunately I cannot make it. I have a leadership retreat that weekend.

I’ll also add that parking enforcement/security comes down on anything and everything that isn’t an actual crime.

Would be kinda cool imo if you incorporated this into a mens or womens soccer game and I’m sure that would help with the university red tape.

baseball…? on 10/15? Are we in the World Series? :o

I agree.

I like the spirit of what you guys are trying to do… but tailgating is only tailgating if it is directly followed by an event.

Showing up at a construction site to drink beer behind your car isn’t tailgating… it’s more like creative alcoholism.

I agree.

We moved this to match up with Niner World Series. Looked into mirroring a soccer game, but there were not many options for a saturday tailgate in early october.

And the construction of said stadium is the event!

Actually it’s more like working in construction :))

Now the 15th is a day I can get down with. I’ll go ahead and say I should be there.

NWS? Now that’s a totally different story!

Count me in.

I think there is already an Alumni Tailgate event planned on campus for Saturday, 10/22. Why not combine the two for a better turnout?

There is a Greek Alumni tailgate on the 22nd (same day as 4.NINERk) that is open to all alumni.

I say why not do both?

Works for me. Just make sure the greeks dont care about non-greeks showing up. I crashed a few greek parties in my time and half the time they were not too happy about it. 8)
