Sounds like Wake didn’t even get a chance to offer in this case. He came onto the scene late and jumped at the UNCC offer. If you’re a gunner from 3, I completely understand why Bobby Lutz’s offense would be alluring. His offense will do everything to get a shooter open looks.
Okay the last part of this quote got me rolling :lmao:
Here’s another:
^^^ Can we get one of those offenses?
LMAO…
Nice get. Booby L. finally locked up a local kid and stole him from the ACC. Does Wake still play in the ACC? Under the radar talent usually comes in more humble and hungry looking for playing time, as opposed to a 5 star Mike Beasley type demanding it. . Hopefully this kid will pan out.
we arn’t offering him an athletic scholarship are we?
He may be ranked 3 stars… but what does that really equate to? He had one good weekend. THATS IT. I am very skepticle about this kid, last thing we need is wasting a scholarship on a guy who the coach can’t even put in the game.
What about an academic scholarship? didn’t he have good grades? let him walk-on or something damn it.
i dont think a kid is gonna walk on when he could get a scholarship to play at a number of other places. if this kid has as much upside as they say then im excited.
It isn’t every day that you find a player with deep 3 point range, great athletic ability and great size for his skills right in your own backyard. His potential is through the roof, we had to jump on him as quickly as possible, otherwise we would be talking about another one who slipped through our fingers.

Plus he’s smart and hard-working (God, that sounds like Hal Wissel). We need someone with a little IQ. Burn the scholarship just on raising IQ in practices alone. And saying he’s only had one good weekend, would it be any different than taking a chance on a JUCO? At least we know he will be a model student.
He’s 6’5, athletic, has a great jump shot, plays his best in big game (that tournament featured most of the best teams in the state) and averages 15 ppg playing with 3 or 4 other high D1 prospects. He’s local, extremely intelligent and has a great work ethic with great fundamentals (he didn’t play AAU).
This kid will be a steal. Had he played AAU and lit it up he’d be a 4 star top 100 prospect easy. High school kids are tougher to discover. Great catch by Lutz. Him and Dewhurst should do this program proud when their 4 years are up.
Maybe the kid will have a great career for us, maybe not. But, I do believe that any home grown Charlotte DI talent, with incredible grades and SAT’s, and potential to be a player (whether he reaches that potential or not) is a kid we have to get, and I’d love to have on the team.
