Here’s an example about that clown.

East Carolina started 2002-03 13-0. During an ABC broadcast, Vitale gave the whole “watch for my suprise of the year, ECU Pirates babyyyyyy”

OF course, we know this record was built against the Big South and weaker part of the SoCon, and ECU won no more than 5 games in C-Usa play.

As much as I don’t like him, I can’t imagine how Katz and Bilas feel about the blabber mouth…

The more knoledgeable fans know Vitale is full of it; but the average fan (who is also the majority of fans) listens to everything he says. I’ll take any kind of pub he gives us.

I can deal with Dick Vitale. I like his excitment and he cracks me up a lot of times with what he says or does. I can’t stand Digger Phelps.

I was watching a game on ESPN classic this weekend, and he was one of the commentators...and he was so different than what he is now. A lot more "relaxed" it seemed, and he seemed more credible and professional (not saying that he currently isn't, but there was a world of difference).

Vitale is classic.

How can you not like the guy. Sure, he is over the top, but he is an overall positive guy that loves college basketball.
