In the waning moments of the UNC/Indiana game, Vitale was talking about the difficulty of Indiana’s upcoming schedule, including us. He also said to look out for Rutgers in the Big East and referenced their win over us as a reason. Of course, Rutgers promptly lost at home tonight to Penn St.
I heard that. He sounded really high on us… and Rutgers for being able to beat us at home. I still can’t believe we gave that one away…
In other news, I have only seen the last 15 minutes or so of the Indiana game but they are not impressing me too much. Lots of turnovers and bad shots. Carolina gave them plenty of chances to get back in the game but they couldn’t take advantage.
Our game in Indiana is gonna be UG-LY. If we lose, it’ll be uglier. I see a game with the score in the 60s. UGH!

I was shocked when I heard Vitale’s praise for Charlotte. He singled us out among IU’s tough upcoming games and then made the comments to look out for Rutgers since they went to Charlotte and won. That’s an impressive reputation to have. That’s why it’s important that Dicky V comes to Charlotte. He gets hundreds of hours of air time and the average fan believes what he says.
Anytime Dickie V isn’t bragging about Duke I am happy. Wonder what he will say after we beat Alabama.
Ditto from Seth Davis at SI.com:
You’ve gotta feel for Indiana coach Mike Davis, who would be better off bringing his young team along slowly but has to play a murderous nonconference schedule because of traditional rivalries. The Hoosiers barely got by Indiana State and Western Illinois, yet they still have to face North Carolina, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Missouri (in Columbus) and Charlotte before Big Ten play begins. It won’t be pretty.
