Our inferiority complex is such a joke sometimes. Isn’t the goal of teams like BSU and eventually us to get to the level of a team like VT? WTF are you people going to do when we get there…root against us? Schools that are to that level worked to get there. VT and BSU have a very similar rise to power and VT has jumped from conference to conference and really has only been relevant since the mid-90s. Before that they were horrible. So we hate them because they’ve had 15 years of success and have worked to that success from nothing? That’s what BSU is trying to do now…and I understand rooting FOR that…but talking bad about teams like VT as if they’re some sort of Hitler-led teams with blind masses of Nazis following them just makes us look absolutely ridiculous to any other fan base.
ninerball49, I don’t think too many Niner fans have any annimosity toward Virginia Tech. I for one find them to be in the easier group of ACC teams to pull for. I do think that the majority of Niner fans hate the BCS. I generally pull for teams closer to my home than those say in the Pacific northwest. However, the BCS system, and what came before it, are so inherently unfair it forces me to pull for a team 3000 miles away from me. Perhaps the first video on the link below will make it more clear for you.
Ninerball49, your post looked more like sour grapes to me. Out of curiosity, who is your favorite team? I know lots of ACC fans that were even pulling for Boise State. And in case you haven’t figured it out, this BCS crap you worship has caused us lots of problems.
And for the record, I want VA Tech to win the ACC Championship but I was still pulling for Boise State.

However, the BCS and the way it selects a champion is an atrocity. I would say that if we were in a BCS conference or not. Boise State winning last night is a slap in the face to the BCS, so i enjoyed it.
I do wonder how, if Boise St. runs the table, the BCS will screw them out of a chance to play for the fictional national title? Remember, the AP, which does not count toward the FNC title, has them at 3. The Coaches poll, which does count, has them at 5. Always like to hear the whinny FNZ crew after games like this. Mac was all, “they play no one after Oregon St. How can they play in the FNCG?”

I talkeD to a guy today. He said "well, we (acc) won 10 of 12 this weekend. We’ll take it."
So he thinks his conference did ok beating 8 RCA schools, navy and north Texas all at home, while losing “neutral” site games to ranked teams.
The acc should not have an automatic bcs bid. That should be the story.

Agree with 95% of this, but what’s wrong with Brent?
You are spot on about the anti-trust laws. I really think it is unethical, immoral and downright illegal the way they operate. Can’t believe that Congress is so worried about steroids in Baseball, but allows this to go unchallenged. I would be willing to bet there is a lobby somewhere greasing some guys in congress to keep the status quo.
All of that being said, I was reeally torn last night. Great to see the ACC and BCS take it on the chin, buut I’m big VT Football and Beamer fan. Good news is, you can lose early in a BCS conf and bounce back, Boise had far more to lose.
Honestly just trying to be helpful, I think you meant just “trust.” Antitrust would be like Congress’s potential actions to break up the BCS and actually make DI play for a real National Championship.
