this new station 1660am could be real sweet for our longtime radio signal issue…they stream live.
when it was operated by 610am - they did not so you were SOL or buying Yahoo.

Will it be blocked or blackout during times of our game broadcasts?
That is what happens for online feeds of other sports that have $ package deals.

so WBTam blocks UNC games streaming??
so WBTam blocks UNC games streaming??
Not sure, I just know that the AM stations I listen to can’t play online streams of game broadcasts. Those are pro sports broadcasts so it might be different than college sports broadcasts.

Don’t know about it being blocked, but doesn’t WRFX have the Tar Heel’s basketball package? WBT has been out of the UNC-CH mix for many years.

Holes are on FNZ aren’t they?
I would not be surprised if it does not stream our games as I believe we are in a contract with Yahoo for audio. Don’t get me wrong though. I would love to have it streaming. Then I should be able to get it on my phone where ever I am.

I think they are for just football now.
Heels are on 99.7 WRFX for basketball.

so in other words it doesn’t make a FREAKIN difference if its streamed or not on 99.7 cuz…99.7 you can pick up!!!
I am 14 miles from uptown and can’t sniff 1660 at night
(not yelling at you)
My parents live in Union county and they can pick up 1660 in the car, but not in the houes. Even there reception is spotty at best. I haven’t tuned in since I moved downtown, but I’d imagine I shouldn’t have any problems here.
It’s unfortunate that our radio situation is as it is. It almost certainly would help if more people in the area could tune into our games.

I’m guessing they are in extreme western or northern Union County, cause I’m actually in north central Union County and can’t pick 1660 up at all after dark. I even bought a “SuperRadio” ($40+) on ebay a couple seasons ago and the static is still almost unbearable on it. I eventually gave in last season and bought the internet feed package (~$89). So, I have invested over $130 just to listen to our radio broadcasts the last 2 seasons, on top of season tickets, 49er club and FSLs. I must be nuts!!!:weep:
I have picked up the new 1660 signal up in Greensboro many of times. Especially during the day when im up there for work. Very clear around salisbury
