Already a Washington Generals team - the longtime barnstorming “adversary” of the Harlem Globetrotters. Date back to early 1950s and received nickname during the Eisenhower administration.

The Generals had a player/coach named Red Klotz who would put himself in the game and hit some long set shots in the days before the 3 point line. He was in his 40s or early 50s.

Commanders it is. Was in the list the CEO provided. Was not on the list of odds that was obviously old.

Team names these days have to be pretty bland for fear of upsetting or alienating someone or a group.

Yeah I think WFT is better. Don’t hate Commanders but it’s just blah. WFT is unique at least and you have the old school looking unis.
