What is the deal?

All of these other schools are trying to sway people at the last minute and I see little to no information recruiting wise for us for this upcoming season. Are we just happy with what we have? Why no late pushes for any players???

On a related noteā€¦does anyone know what our target number of signees is this year? I see that we have 16 verbals, but would have thought weā€™d want to sign in the lower 20s.

I have heard anywhere from 16 to 22.

the teams scalping kids are mostly teams that had NFL talent leave early or a transfer, and a spot and playing time opens up.

No NFL early entrees, but thankfully no transfers (that Iā€™ve heard) for us.

Doesnā€™t this happen all the time? Read over the weekend that Michigan grabbed some quarterback that had already committed to Texas.

There is a good chance that football will have an early signing period starting next year which hopefully will help the poaching that go on in football. The early period is going to be in early Dec so teams will not know how many players are leaving for the NFL. I wish that they would have moved it to match basketball so every sport would be at the same time.

Right on cue we land a big commit from a 3 star OLB. Haha.

Awesome news. I had seen on Rivals where he had visited over the weekend. He had a lot of quality offers, so itā€™s great to keep a guy like this at home.

Rivals and 247 have him listed as a TE. Wonder if we recruited him as an OLB or TE?

We caught up with Michael after he committed.

He answers some questions and what he was being recruited as.

Thanks Patrick! Any other possible late commits on the radar?

Excellent! Lets hope he sticks. He will likely see lots of playing time on either side of the ball:)

I predict he ends up as a DE. He is very similar to Banks coming out of HS.

I like this pickup. Looks like he had some solid offers so it is good to keep him at home. I would like just a couple of more commits in the next week to finish strong this year. I do not think we have a great class coming in, but a few more kids like this one could turn the whole year around.

One of Holmesā€™ coaches is Randy Moss. His son also plays at VC.

We are recruiting Randy Mossā€™ son Thaddeus (3 star), but Iā€™m not sure how hard. Nice to have one of his teammates committed.

I didnā€™t realize Randy Moss was back in Charlotte. He was the neighbor of a friend of mine who lived near Mallard Creek Rd 10-12 yrs ago.
