What to do with Ron Sanchez?

Given the contract I just don’t see how money is a roadblock here.

In 10 years are people gonna say them ā€œretiringā€ Judy for Hill is was the biggest mistake and ā€œbring back Judy!ā€

It boils down to how successful is Biff? If he is able to accomplish his goals or close to his goals then all will be forgiven on the Healey and Sanchez hires. Then if Hill can hit a homer with the hire that replaces Sanchez then all will be good.

Judy actually did some really good things for the university until Phil got there…thats what started a downward spiral.

I agree. Phil does not get enough credit for our failures. He was a pawn for the UNC system and sacrificed our university in many ways.

We could be so much further ahead had Dubois been a strong leader focused on the best interest of our university. Darn shame!

Thats one area where you wont get an argument from me. Phil was awful and had no leadership.

Correct.

And I would bet my house he’s not happy with him at all.

He can like the guy personally and still not be happy with the job he’s done.

It would be impossible for Hill to be happy with the job he’s done because he sucks.

He didn’t fire him this year for reasons we may never know. But it’s coming.

That seems to be quite the leap.

Really?

What would he have to be happy about regarding Sanchez’s performance other than being scandal free?

He seems to be pretty damn high on him winning 20 games and winning the CBI regardless of qualitative measures and how the fans feel.

Not a chance in Hell, I remember grandma making descisions on her kitchen floor. Hill has been a vast improvement and has made changes when they need to happen. Healy is a perfect example of that.

Other than the soccer heads, I think most would agree that football, basketball and baseball are the big three.

Hill has made 4 hires. I rate them as 1-2 with one pending. You could argue after this baseball season (at this time) that the actual rating is 0-2-1 and get no push back from me. Although for the record I thought Woodard was a HR hire but this year has shaken that a lot.

I honestly don’t see an upgrade in the AD yet, hope time proves me wrong.

My gut tells me that’s simply toeing the company line and trying to show positivity and support until he has to cut him loose.

This season will tell the tale.

The analysis gets even worse… if you consider the major sports for Coaching hires; Football & Bball….

Mullins was hired in 83, he retired, Asst
got the job…… Watkins left & his Asst got the job, Lutz.

So in 40 yrs we have had one good external hire in the two major sports that was Mullins….

One note: Jeff was hired in 85 (first season was 85-86).

Tolerate him for another year.

Pray for a miracle.

Try not to let his presence coaching your favorite team affect your mental health.

Hope and faith are not good for tactics and strategies, unless perhaps they are the names of two hot stripper girlfriends, then maybe.

We seem to have people that have picked their corner regardless of results. There’s the Ron corner, the Woodard corner and the Hill corner.

The only one left is the neutral corner that wants to see success and isn’t going to base an opinion on personal feelings or interactions with one of the other three. I’ll be in that one and will buy y’all a beer if you care to join me.
