I agree, was talking with another Alumni last night about how Mike Hill is very confusing, I think most would agree the Baseball and Football program are going in the right directions at least in Baseball we made the real post season a few years ago and we all are happy with Biff, just donāt understand why itās ok for basketball to be a turdā¦
Clown Standard
Maybe there is a major contributor that wants to get rid of me too. Both those suggestions would make you happy, right? Letās keep lowering that bar. Letās play WCU twice a year.
The thing is, this is not about me, except for the general long/term and ongoing embarrassment of our basketball program. I refuse to accept that and cheer on. As for hurt feelings, thatās not any goal of mine.
Yes, you just lowered your own bar. I asked a question, and you took it personal. If I was talking to you, I would have said so in the comment! And since you brought it up, yes, you have made it about you with your hatred for Ron! I donāt like where we are but your never-ending ranting of your not supporting the team, Mike Hill, Ron Sanchez, attendance, lights out in Halton, etc. are really getting to be annoying. Just donāt understand why you have to attack everything someone on here says.

Funny how the NET was so thoroughly adhered to in seeding that tournamentā¦
clt says that is very interestingā¦
Looks like this would have been a more acceptable OCC schedule for most of the posters on here.
The CBIā¦the Cupcake Basketball Invitational
Barelyā¦but yes it would have.
- No, my opinion stays the same. I think Sanchez should be given another year. The transfer portal is the new way of basketball.
- No, my opinion stays the same. fire Sanchez.
- Yes, my opinion changed. Since Sanchez canāt keep Aly or Williams then he needs to be fired

You would not score well in the class for writing non-leading or biased polls⦠I tend to want to vote for 3⦠but I donāt think we fire him because it was his fault that they left⦠he may be partly to blame but itās the way of the world now and thus not all his fault.
If he would have kept his team together I was fully aboard on another year⦠But since the team is most likely taking a step back next season now regardless, now is a good time to make a change⦠Especially with no huge loss recruits on the way in if they change their mind with the change.
This is a good point.

I suppose most of the comments on here are strictly from a fan perspective. But should we not look at things from a Hill perspective? Hill thinks nobody is happy with Sanchez including Hill. But Hill is not going to be critical of Sanchez to anybody including a single fan - it does not matter who that fan is.
That could be suicide for Hill. ADs just donāt do that if they want to continue to be ADs. Hill must remain professional. If any AD starts throwing their coach under the bus then the next coach may be very difficult to find. So, we do not k ow what Hill is thinking.
Second, Hill is not going to fire Sanchez after just firing Healey. It is that simple. I donāt give a damn how bad Sanchez is, he bought some time when Healey got fired.
Third, if money is a concern and isnāt money always a concern? Isnāt that especially true when you are trying to raise a lot of money to upgrade facilities? You do not want a major donor saying - you just threw away over a million dollars by firing a coach. You donāt really need my money. So, with money in mind the financial position of the athletic department will start improving immediately beginning next year.
I doubt that Hill is happy with Sanchez. But he is not going to display that displeasure in the media or to any fan. But he must be smart how he handles the Sanchez situation. Although Sanchez did have a cupcake out of conference schedule, he still won over 20 games. Hill knows that he could be ridiculed in the national media for firing a coach that won over 20 games.
I suspect that 2024 could be the end of the Sanchez era in CLT. Nobody is happy including Hill. Hill will do the necessary deed when he feels the timing is right.
Hill wasted a year of a niner basketball fanās fandom life.
If an AD is throwing their coach under the bus publicly then they have already failed.
If they reach that point they should have already fired them or if the money isnāt there then they have to either stay mum or keep supporting their coach.
Throwing the coach under the bus is our job.
Exactly, but some are saying that they are unhappy because Hill is not showing displeasure. Some are saying that Hill is too committed to Sanchez, really likes Sanchez or Sanchez can do no wrong in Hillās viewpoint. How do we know that? We donāt know that . Just because Hill has not fired Sanchez does not mean that he is happy with him. There could be other circumstances that are preventing Hill from pulling the trigger such as, money, not firing two coaches in same year, or maybe the chancellor is not willing to sign off. As a fan, most of us donāt k ow what Hill is thinking. But I believe that the time to fire Sanchez is approaching and could be next year.
Both Healy and Sanchez were Hillās hires so how he gets out of those failures will go down in his legacy here.
