Which could happen either way right? What if he stays and we have a mass exudus? Thatâs in the realm of possibilities as well. This seems to really be a risk reward evaluation at this point. Both short and long term. And there is an obvious surplus on the risk side now.
There probably would have been folks on here saying that, but I donât think i would have at least. All game they were blocking or bothering our shots down low, aside from Khalifa. The kick out jumper would have been my preference, knowing they likely collapse hard on Patterson, though if Khalifa was at all open, i want him getting the ball after Brice. Other things could go wrong with that (they were blocking our passes all game) but it still seems like the better option. Other games when the defenders were not so much taller and more athletic, i actually like a Patterson drive there, because heâs good at protecting his shot from similar-sized defenders, but that already hadnât worked in this game in getting his shot off or getting a foul called.
i still think the lack of timeout after the foul was the bigger mistake. Use that last one to set up the play with less time available, help Patterson be able to make a better decision.
I liked the play going to the basket. I didnât like it being Patterson there.
Iâm not one of the ones holding my breath about who we will lose if we make a coaching change, just will feel sad to see some of these players go. Feel like this team has potential to be better, but not sure Sanchez is going to help them achieve that at this point. I do think itâs unrealistic to expect our better players to stick around with a coaching change in todayâs game, just doesnât happen often when a new person is brought in. That said, weâll likely lose players if he stays just due to the portal and how much players transfer now. Doubt itâs worth it to keep Sanchez if the motivation is we donât want to lose players. Weâre going to lose some players no matter what. The one upside to this is transfers could help a transition to a new coach be less painful.
I think this roster staying together is very unlikely. Ron has lost key players several times over the last few years. Thatâs just the way things work these days. By the time we know whoâs staying & whoâs going, it will be too late to make a coaching change. Thatâs just not a good reason to keep a coach if thatâs the only reason you are doing it.
The roster has flipped considerably the last 2 seasons. Not sure why you wouldnât expect the same this coming year.
This is another argument where both sides arenât making sense to me.
Iâm pretty sure people expect some roster turnover. The anxiety is over core players.
I really donât want to lose a legacy player like Brice.
If anything, I was kinda daydreaming a couple months ago about a 23-24 Niner team with two legacy players (Williams and Withers). Now that would have been pretty cool.
Donât you mean three?
Okay. Guess you can count Graves too.
I wonder if Aly would test the portal to see what interest he gets
I do count Graves but agree would be nice to have Withers come âhomeâ after the debacle in Louisville that probably wonât be rectified for a while.
You really think he might be on the move? (Here or elsewhere)?
We definitely have a spot for him. Need some more size. He would be a nice piece to have.
And AAC shouldnât be too big of a step down in competition.
I wonât be surprised to see quite a bit of movement within the UofL roster - Withers included.
Guess we need to do a table/ graph with each player listed and % chance of leaving.
I dont know why but I do not expect a ton of turnover this year if Sanchez stays. Just a hunch and a belief in the cult like attraction that Sanchez has on everyone.
Same but Iâd be surprised to see withers jump from a dumpster fire to a smoldering dumpster.
I think we have a better chance of keeping players if we make a change. My eyesight which is 20/20 at 56, thank you, tells me they donât like playing for him.
5 years is enough. People that call that hating are seemingly unaware that coaching is a results driven gig.

Where is Mike Hill? He retweets when Niners win, but thatâs about it these days. I hope he is negotiating with the next basketball coach and not hoping this all will blow over. If Mike Hill thinks the hot mess wanting Sanchez fired will fade away, I am afraid I have got some very, very, very bad news.
The hot mess has gotten larger, hotter and more expressive since the powderpuff wins evaporated from memories. Just read your own twitter comments and your basketball teamâs twitter comments Mr. Hill. You get an F for hiring and extending Sanchez. Only Mike Hill can fix the hot mess he created
Would imagine Aly will have the option to go to one of the growing and many Euro leagues, bball is growing there and pays much better than it use to.
- This coming week before ncaa tourney
- After this coming week
- If he hasnât already fired Ron, he isnât going to
