Most probably won’t notice at the first but that is a badly drawn version of our logo by some amateur in Illustrator that ended up on sportslogos.net and happens to be the one of the first logos that pops up on google images when you search “Charlotte 49ers logo”.
The mistake is in the pick axe portion of the logo. The stroking around the top part of the pick axe (above the handle) changes stroke size multiple times and it just looks messy and unprofessional.
Here are the two official versions of our logo as found on the logo sheet. If someone is wiki savvy please make the change on there. Thanks!
By the way, I don’t know if I’eve ever put this out there but the old wordmark is one of my favorite logos ever in any sport/league/country you name it. Gorgeous thing.
You’ll have to create a Wikipedia accout for yourself:
You’ll be able to use that account to log on to Wikimedia Commons, from where you can upload images. You’ll have to provide proof that you have legal permissions to use the image. There are several different options for legal proof of use.

Obviously I understand all of that. I opened this thread to bring to light a slight issue regarding our image and I know there are quite a few members that already do wiki content based on previous threads on there. It would take them a lot less time than it would me.
It’s the same incorrect logo (coloring and shape) on all of our sports related wiki pages. Someone with an already existing account can’t fix this? Seriously? :
O
They were just posted by the guy in the thread. They are due for updating our page on that site but as of yet they have not.
Once he has them updated with url links I can add them to Wikimedia and use the same use license as the old ones had. Just post here when they’re up.
