I need some evidence that our Athletic Department is working in some way, no matter how small, to hold UNC responsible for the fraudulent classes so many of their athletes have gotten credit for. I appreciate the clean ship we run but if our University does not push for standards across the NCAA our clean ship is not enough. I have 3 FSL’s, season tickets in Basketball and 49er club member for 17 years. I need this evidence or I may be out. I know I am supporting the Charlotte 49ers but by doing so I am also supporting the NCAA. I do not want the student athlete to be a thing of the past.
More concerned with holding our AD responsible for the product we put on the floor.
clt says UNC CHeat is the problem, UNC is the system.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
Dude our AD can barely put an average product on the court yet you think they are going to go above and beyond to try and hold UNC responsible? I get your point, but dude they need to be more worried about improving the product they put on the field/court here.
As much as I want UNC-CH to get publicly flayed the NCAA does not put that up to a vote of the membership. The problem is they are disfunctional and financially supported by the cabal of P5 teams that cheat the most. I am not sure how much power you think Judy has, or what you want her to do, but this is on the NCAA leadership.
This is the dumb s*** that makes me facepalm so often over our fanbase.
Why are we complaining about chapel hill cheating at academics when we can’t even put a winning product on the floor? SO many other far more important things for our AD to worry about. Like our own school.
edit
Also, I’m tired of the “wal mart fan” comments.
Roughly 30% of North Carolinians actually have 4 year college degrees. Are the other 70% not allowed to have someone to cheer for? Hell, Basden is a WalMart fan, he didn’t go here. And he is showing up on the board less and less, because, well, we suck.
This is going to be controversial, but I don’t care. I want Wal Mart fans. I want the other 70%. But we have to win, and to a lesser extent market better, up our game experience, and up our on campus experience. Rip into students who wear heels gear, but leave everyone else alone. Wouldn’t you want to cheer for a winner? I know I would.

Yes x 100
How dumb would I look at work or church, when people are talking about last night’s championship, and I but in about how I actually went to a school that doesn’t cheat and how Charlotte is a sleeping giant and how you shouldn’t cheer for some place you didn’t go to school at.
People would think I was an asshole, and rightfully so.
Unless it has to do with the board of governors let the UNC thing go. Let it go. Let.it.fucking.go.

To be honest, I would not care if they though I was an ahole for saying that. Not my fault the truth hurts.
What is our school supposed to do if UNC-CH gets off with the NCAA? I don’t know what you want us to do. It’s like asking your State Rep. what he/she will do when someone is let off by a jury. Nothing, same here.
Things we need to focus on:
-
Once Judy/Phil announce they are leaving, making sure their replacements are capable of guiding the university and the athletics program to level we all know it should be at.
-
Name change to the University of Charlotte (contingent on executing 1 properly)
-
Medical school (contingent on executing 1 properly)
Holy shit.

Amen to that.
Never. What is good for them is bad for us. In all things.

We complain because we simply want equal treatment under the law. It is a bit harder to compete when other teams are cheating. You want us to win more? Well part of that equation is other teams being held to the same standard as we are. Or modification of what is permittes so that we can act in the same manner.
As for Wal-Mart fans - it isn’t so much that they are fans of Chapel Hill or wherever, it is that they have the fucking balls to look down on us when either they dont have a college diploma or they dont have a diploma from Chapel Hill. Don’t you dare talk smack to me about where Charlotte is in the landscape of college athletics if you didn’t go to the school you are cheering for.
The issue for me is if you don’t have a diploma you don’t really have a stake in things. You can simply walk away. So great be a fan but know where you fit in the equation.

clt says it is time to cheat. in a big way. hire zion willamson’s family to work on campus as advisors

clt says the wal mart fans are the worst, but are going away. the charlotte region in 2016 looks a lot different than 1985. clt sees more gamecock, tOSU, meechigan, cuse, etc. gear than ever. despite the observer’s best effort the CHeats are not as popular.
-clt says that 49er, appy, and ECU need to work together instead of constantly fighting. a league with all 3 teams would be ideal, even if we needed to drop to the sunbelt.
Aha! We have it folks. The real reason Bobby Lutz and Alan Major didn’t succeed was because UNC Chapel Hill was cheating. And that’s probably why Mark Price isn’t winning too. If only Judy had done something and brought the hammer down on chapel hill we wouldn’t be in this predicament!
You must be high.
Things must be truly awful wherever you live. No one ever talks down to me about going to Charlotte. Most people don’t even really recognize the fact that we even have sports to begin with. Which is the first problem, not random people talking smack.
If people are talking trash to you it’s probably because you are randomly interrupting their conversations with things like, “Yeah, well I went to a school that doesn’t cheat, and you didn’t even go to that school anyway.” It’s shit like this (on top of our school not doing anything) that gets us that gets us no good pub from state radio shows. We are so toxic and ready to talk down every single other school out there with nothing to show for it.
That’s very elitist and messed up of you. Like I said, only 30% of NC residents graduated from a 4 year school, even less attended a school with D1 basketball, even less attended a school that has ever been halfway relevant (im including us in this). Know your place community college grads! Know your place those of you who only went to high school. Know where you fit in the equation.
We have no place talking down to people with where we are at. Bring them all in. I want our school to represent the city even more, and then to move beyond that and be the one and only school that represents both North and South Carolina and reaches out to York County and Cherokee county, etc. Bring them all in.
Yeah, chapel hill cheated. What is Judy supposed to do about it? She can’t do a single damn thing. And I really don’t want her to. I want her to focus on actually putting a winning product on the field/court/diamond.
We aren’t in the ACC. We aren’t rivals of the tar heels. There is no reason for you to be talking shit to a team that just won the national championship and we had our worst rpi in recorded rpi history.
The issues that exist between our 2 schools that actually matter reside at the chancellor and board of governors levels. Make your efforts there.

It happens. In real time, I could see how he missed it, as Meeks did pull his hand back in bounds very quickly.
I’m not so sure Gonzaga would have scored, anyway.
My complaint with the refs were that they called too many fouls by about half and that the flagrant foul was BS. The dude obviously was not fouling with intent and, as large as he is, had he applied “excessive force”, Chapel Hill’s point guard would have more to worry about today than a turned ankle.
Well, I get annoyed by “Walmart” fans because they remind me how stupid people can be.
There’s no use pointing out the immorality and hypocrisy of their favorite school, either. As long as they get to feel like a “winner”, they don’t care.
I suppose they are more to be pitied than scorned.
