So todays game is very important in regards to tournament seeding, this is a very important stat that is used by the committee.

I believe the way road wins work this year are that the winning road team gets “extra credit” in the RPI. I think the win is weighted 1.4 wins for a road win and that is factored in to the RPI. Home losses work against you also, I believe. So having the third best winning % on the road does help. The selection committee certainly didn’t factor in our road record last year in the seeding! Those wins at Cincy, Syracuse and SIU did zippo for us as far as bonus points.
Correct, you need a few road wins, but must win at home, home losses hurt. With the new RPI formula, wins on the road and losses at home are weighted by 1.40. Wins at home and losses on the road are weighted by 0.60. Games on a neutral court are weighted by 1.00.
