Helicopter.

See if clt will give you a lift in his zeppelin.

You just take I 26 N to I 81 S. It adds about 45 minutes to your trip.

Pigeon Forge? Are you going to Dollywood Jim?

“how” is the wrong question. More like “why?”

I went last month from Winston to Sevierville (basically Pigeon Forge) for work and went they Wytheville route that 49erfootballnow suggested. It basically didnt cost me any time from what I-40 usually takes. It was an easy trip and I might take that route going forward even after I-40 opens back up.

I never would have thought it would be that quick, but I used to make it from Winston to Marion, VA in about 2 hours and 15 minutes, so that seems about right.

Also, the scenic option is to go to Cherokee and take 441 through the Smokies (if the road is open). Going this way, I would take 74 to 441 instead of 19 to 441. I used to do a lot of mountain biking and hiking up in that area.

This.

I used the same route when I went to Nashville back in November (when it was closed from the FIRST rockslide).

Sevierville has one of the best B&B’s I’ve ever been too.

Blue Mountain Mist

Strongly suggest getting one of the themed cottages if you ever want a great, romantic getaway (anniversary, honeymoon, Valentine’s, etc.). You won’t regret it.

Wasn’t too impressed with Dollywood though. Only good thing was no one was there the day we went and I was able to ride one of the rollercoasters close to 10 straight times without ever getting off.

This is the way we went a few months back. It may take you an extra 30-45 minutes, but if you’re not in a hurry I recommend it.

I just did it yesterday coming back from Knoxville. I-40 to Asheville - 26North (19/23 North towards Johnson City) then took Hwy 25 over the mountain and hooked back up with 40 around the intersection of 40 & 81. Hope this helps…

I’m going this way tomorrow. Heading to Gatlinburg for a few days.

Idk about from Winston, but from Charlotte it is faster to hit Wytheville and run I81 south - I’ve made the trip a couple of times in the last couple of months. Further milleage wise but faster overall. I got the tip from a trucker who runs to knoxville every night, btw.

Monorail.

You’re not going to Knoxville so I-81 takes you too far. Take 40 to 26 and then take Hwy 25/70 over the mountain through Hot Springs. It will bring you right back to 40 just east of Sevierville. If you take 81 it will take you too far west.

My bro owns the Kilwin’s there in Pigeon Forge and Gaitlinburg. If you have a chance, stop in and get some good fudge.

Sorry. Incorrect. Sevier County (exit 407) off I40 is west of where I81 comes in to I40. (around mile marker 418), in Jefferson County. Those two counties have been part of my work territory for 12 years. Exit 407 is west of mile marker 418. Knoxville is further west than 407. I 81 does NOT take you too far. 25/70 is a viable option, but my suggestion is all interstate.

You don’t need to get back on I-40 to get to Sevierville. Getting back on I-40 and getting off on Exit 407 (Hwy 66) is the long way.

25/70 will take you back to I-40. But stay on 25/70, go under the I-40 bridge and take a left onto 411. It will take you straight into Sevierville and is shorter than tracking back up north on I-40 and then south again on Hwy 66.
