If I never hear the words Diddle Arena and Pancake Thomas it will be too soon.
We did have a good team effort. Not having QJ in the second half hurt us. In the last 3 minutes, we missed getting some key defensive rebounds, missed a one and one and made a bad turnover (Price).
It was nice to see White have a good game after his debacle against Rice. Disappointed with Davis and his turnovers.
I was surprised that Price said in the postgame that he wanted BO to take the last shot. BO has never shown he is Mr. Clutch. Davis, White or Price needed to take that shot.
Marshall will be a tough out on Saturday We need Jackson back by then.
and if shaq was 6’4", he wouldnt be any good. what a silly thing to say. making shots is not a flukish thing. it is what this team should do. if wku had not been hitting shots, we would have won. that logic can be applied all day.

You pimping this team is like pimping the ugliest girl in the neighborhood. No smart person is buying what you are selling.

Do you even watch our games or just look at the final score on your phone? We shot well last night but so did WKU. Look at the stats. They made one more play than us late and won at home.
We had a couple baskets taken away from us late in the game because the refs said the foul occurred before the shots, and those calls made a difference too. The concept of the home team getting the home cooking seems to be something we have trouble understanding because it does not seem to happen in Halton, at least not for the men’s team.

That was about as good as I have seen us play all year long and we lost to a team that is average at best. WKU lost to Belmont by 31 and later on lost to THE Detroit Mercy Titans. I have no idea who that is.
I do think we put in a good effort. Love the shooting tonight. Those positives aside, but I feel like we knew who this team was pretty early on. Typical Niner fashion would be to beat teams we shouldn’t beat and lose to teams we shouldn’t lose to. Mark Price teams, thus far, have been incredibly consistent. As a program, I don’t think Charlotte should be consistently losing to anyone in the 150-200 RPI range, but given the talent, and what we’ve seen so far this is amazingly consistent. I hope Jackson is back soon.
It doesn’t matter how good the team plays offensively because the defense is so bad. We can have nights where we shoot 50% or better from the field and still lose because we are such a dreadful defensive team.
I listened to the second half on the radio and it sounded like an evenly matched game where our team showed up instead of just Davis. We lost, but we competed. We were on the road with a team that was picked third preseason by the coaches, and we were eighth. The Rice game was a disaster, but this game was just a loss and we are going to have some of those. I am mildly disappointed by last night’s game instead of despondent like I was on Monday. On to Marshall.
The funny thing is, this and the above are both true. The team did play hard, we just don’t know how to play defense, and I don’t think we have much talent.
Offense takes talent - Defense takes being an asshole. Tough defense is just as much a mental state as it is talent. Yeah blocking shots requires being tall, but staying in front of your man and just play hard nose D is more about a mentality. Of everything that is what has shocked me about Price, the team just doesn’t seem to have the defensive mentality. Anyone that has played basketball knows you can be a subpar athlete and still play good solid defense by effort and knowledge.

I have watched almost every game except maybe one or two for the last 5 or 6 years. This team is not good. I expect to lose by 20 or more to any Top 50 RPI squad. WKU is not a good team at all and we should have beat them. I expect to lose to a high scoring Marshall team by 20 or 30 because we are not consistent enough to shoot 50% + two games in a row. We are 1-2 (tied for 9th) in the 24th ranked conference in the country. You guys think that because we shot well we are a good team, but we are a dumpster fire. And it is more than just a big man away. We have serious issues at all positions including a stud guard who turns the ball over as much as he assists a score. Here are some team rankings for you:

im not pimping this team. this season has been a disaster but i dont like this, “if you took away what we do best, we would lose”, argument.
Wow, I have not been looking at stats this year, just the games. I just did cuz of your comment. Davis does average as many TOs as Assists. He is shooting .538 from the field and .511 from 3. Wow! This backs up what I said in a previous comment, that he is really just a SG. We don’t have a PG. This is not a knock against Davis. I really like Davis. Some of you have said he can make the league. He will need to tighten up on his defense and actually become a PG if he’s going to have a shot. I really hope he does, but at this point I do not have faith in defense being taught.
This is premature, but if things do not improve next year, maybe Price should get rid of an assistant or 2 and try to bring in someone who can teach defense and or recruit big men.
Those team stats are awful.
edit
Actually, we do some things very well. FTs, 3 point shooting, making the opposing team turn the ball over. But, of course, if you miss the steal, you often get burned - especially when you don’t have anyone who can block. It’s even worse when you don’t have anyone that excels at rebounding.
