Sports Illustrated takes a look at, and predicts the impact of the top 100 transfers playing hoops this year. Lucky us, we supplied two of them. >:(
#58 - Keyshawn Woods, Wake Forest
Projected PPG 8.1, PPG for us 8.4
Keyshawn Woods (No. 58) will add some offensive punch to a Wake Forest team that finished 11–20 last year. The 6’ 3" guard, a former North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, averaged 8.4 points in his freshman season at Charlotte, and shot a C-USA leading 46.6% from behind the arc.
#67 - Torin Dorn, NC State
Projected PPG 7.4, PPG for us 12
I am really surprised that Woods is ranked above Dorn. If Dorn sat out a year, and then only plays enough minutes to get 7.4 points, I say he made a bad move. Granted, playing for NCSU and in the ACC has more name cachet, but sitting on the bench for them versus leading our team may not. However, I am going to disagree with SI and predict he does more.

Wasn’t State already recruiting over Dorn? No matter how many times it happens - kids will still get caught up in the hype when they see ACC even though they may ride pine.
I hope they both suck. I predicted Dorn would be recruited over and would become a role player and I still hope for that to happen. I hope both of those programs are playing for last place in the ACC.
It still makes no sense that neither of these 2 “guards” would want to play for Mark Price…especially after what they did their Freshman year.
Makes me really wonder who got their ear and pushed them out.
We are struggling to try just be a top 5 team in CUSA. Conference freaking USA!!! And going through a rebuild isn’t attractive and we still wouldn’t have legit big guys to put with them.
Oh yea I forget to mention, it’s the ACC! Let’s take off the green tinted glasses. Even a bottom feeder ACC team would be better than middle of road CUSA team. But I guess we’ll see how we finish.
That said, I wish them good health but hope they shoot 15%fg ;D

Jeff McGinnis. I heard it from a source I trust. He wanted Dink to get the job and when he didn’t he used his relationship with the players/handlers to get them to leave.
I don’t hate them. I couldn’t care less about them however. They were 19 year old men. People were in their ear sure, but they made the ultimate decision.

Better a starter here than a role player anywhere, including the mighty ACC.
I do think Dorn showed potential to be a star player his freshman year, we’ll see if State gives him a chance to be that. Woods will likely just be a spot up shooter for Wake. Don’t think he had the ball handling/driving skills that make a complete player…But hey that’s what offseasons are for.
They should have stayed and played for an 4-time NBA All Star, but I wish them luck moving forward.

This was always what I was told as well.
I have mixed feelings. Part of me wants to see them fail miserably as a warning for others thinking of leaving, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. And part of me wants to see them succeed, particularly becoming competent defenders, just to show that Major really did have the talent to do well. I think both of these players have potential to be really good.
But mostly I just want to move on and not spend any time worrying one way or the other about it, instead talking about our own team. Seems like we haven’t talked much about the coming season yet compared to past seasons.
Tiger Woods’ golf game really sucks now. He has dropped completely off the charts. I thought I was the only one with the ability to have a golf game fall apart that quickly.
