X fan here. Been to the X/Charlotte games the past 3 years. I’ve really enjoyed the atmosphere at your games when compared to some other A-10 venues I’ve attended. With the new coach and team struggles, how is it this year? What about attendance?
Hoping that Coach Major can turn it around for you guys and make you a player in the league. Although he spent time at the schhol up in columbus, I can’t help but like the guy who was an assistant on our first elite 8 run.
Been some pretty good highs this season - beating Tennessee and Georgia Tech - while the lows have been more frequent, especially after Saturday’s double OT loss to La Salle.
As far as attendance, looks like we’re following the NBA model - listing tickets sold, distributed, etc., instead of actual butts in the seats. Announced attendance for the La Salle game was 7,092, but no where near that. Definitely one of the smallest crowds of the season and I’d say it was more like 4,000. A lotta empty seats in my section and I’m a season ticket holder with seats just 2 rows from the court. Of course, should be a good crowd for your X-Men this Wednesday.

Sorry for jumping in here Run, but NO WAY were there only 4,000. The upper deck was atleast 50% more full than normal this year. Maybe you didn’t turn around and look up much but upstairs was pretty good on the public side. The student side was maybe not quite as full as it has been most of the year. I’d estimate close to 6,000 (give or take 200) were actually there.
at tipoff, it wasnt even half full. By halftime, it was over half full, though those huge blocks of empty seats in the corners add up fast.
I don’t quite get the obsession our fans have with reported versus actual attendance figures. I’d like Halton to be full for every game, but we’re 9-12.
I’ve seen much much worse attendance for this program in years it deserved better.
Leaves methinking that if we can get good again, it wont be taken for granted and the stands will be packed.
PS - I cannot name one school that uses anything other than paid attendance.
PPS - Just saw the “Charlotte High” comment on that pregame story. Really?

Agreed. I was actually impressed with the turnout considering our record. The alumni side far outnumbered the student side.
I thought Lasalle drew one of the largest non-student crowds all year. I have been at every game and Lasalle my section was the fullest it has been all year. I hope we get a good crowd out for Wednesday night’s game!
Definitely was a good community turnout considering. There was a half-price Vic card promotion and they advertised it a lot in the University area. Plus NinerID was petitioning for a sell-out. Students let us down for that one. Season ticket holders and community did their part.

Like I said earlier, no one reports actual turnstile numbers unless they’re masochistic. Ask Calipari about that.
even with 3 losses in a row, I think overall we have gotten better through those 3 losses so I don’t expect this Xavier game to be a blowout like some people think…hopefully
So who’s ready for the X-Men to go down in the Greatest Upset in History? 7 Schollies vs. the World! We’re gonna do it! Make the X-Men our Bee-atch! 8) :)) :o
Interesting to hear your thoughts on the season and the program. I think Major will recruit well and you guys will be on the rise.
You all probably have your own pre-game rituals but the X folks will be at Buffalo Wild Wing before the game if anyone wants to throw a few back before you lose.

Not at BWWs though, not since that health department incident. Enjoy.

Yea I remember that…never going to BWWs again
Guess I was working on that tipoff assessment, then going out at halftime to get my son a white-out tee for tonight’s game. That and the disappointment of losing! Anyway, I am appreciative of all of those who came out for the La Salle game and just hope my section of season tix holders shows up in a couple of hours for the X-Men vs. Niners match!
