That works for me as well.
Some of our best games were in Freedom Hall.

Hey there is no reason to bring the women of Kentucky into this debate.

Yep, no good looking women in that state⦠
I find it hard to beleive that they are going to tear down Freedom Hall. Talking to a friend that works at UofL (not athletics) the plan is to make some slight renovations to FH to try and attract an NBA team prior to the completion of the downtown arena. Why would they tear down an arena that they just fixed up?
He envisions the relationship with the downtown arena as a place where UofL plays some big games and still continue to play on campus similar to what Villanova does. Negotiations are tough when you are trying to split the revenue of luxury suites, signage and consessions. Jurich is a greedy SB.
From the picture it looks like a beautiful place, good spot for NCAA tourney regionals. Too bad UofL will not see one of those for a few years.

Jayhawk, who said anything about Freedom Hall being torn down? Sounds to me like your UofL friend doesnāt know what he/she is talking about. Once the downtown arena is completed, UofL menās basketball will be the primary tenant, even having scheduling priorty over an NBA team should that city ever get one. And no way an NBA team would play regularly in the dump that is Freedom Hall!

Where the feck are you getting your information? Freedom Hall isnāt on campus, it is at the Louisville fairgrounds. Thatās why UL canāt play home games in November. The city of Louisville are building this arena FOR UofL. UofL is getting luxury box revenue and everything from the arena, plus first refusal on event dates.
Looks like UofL played three home games during November this year. What is the university/city going to do w/ Freedom Hall? Guess they are going to have to schedule a few more rodeos and boat shows.
Has Memphis been able to sellout the FedEx Forum on a regular basis? Would you as a fan/coach/player rather play in front of a filled 12k arena or half full arena w/ 12k fans?

As far as I know, UofL isnāt going to do anything since they are only a tenant of Freedom Hall, which itself is part of the larger state-owned Kentucky Exposition Center. Nothing is going to happen to the facility, so you should be able to sleep better tonight knowing that.

The final 2-3 years were aweful in basketballā¦C-USA slipped close to 10th in the RPI and was behind the A-10 in two of those three yearsā¦it was imploding 4 years ago IMOā¦

damn straight we do. my new favorite team is kentucky until we get one. GO WILDCATS!
WE NEED A HOCKEY TEAM!!
We have a club Ice Hockey team. Theyāre actually fairly good, beat NC State in Bobcats Arena last semester. Iām pretty sure they just suffered their first loss to Georgia Tech this past weekend as well.
Itās not the Golddusters thread, but does give some of us a bit of inspiration! Go Wildcats!

2 of the final 3 years of CUSA produced Final Four teams. The league RPI was misleading because of all the new teams that were brought in where basketball was an afterthought to their football programs.

that was a classic thread.
