So what youâre saying is we held your best player to six shots?
Thatâs actually not unusual . He still went to the line seven times in that game. He is number one in the nation in free throws made in free throws attempted this year.
Our guys got better this year as well. Donât forget that.
Thatâs a cool snow globe. I sense a disturbance in the force. Itâs as if @itsbraille49 suddenly got extremely hungry
Schedule states game on ESPN 3. Iâm currently directv but find it thoroughly confusing in accessing. Watched YouTube tutorials and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? (I have ESPN+ but that doesnât include espn3)
Go to ESPN.com. On the right side click on the watch button. Then click on whatever is playing on regular ESPN or something other than ESPN+. It will show a popup allowing you to sign in with your Direct TV credentials.
ESPN has two logins, one for your provider to get ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, etc⌠and one for ESPN+. Hope that helps.
Thanks!!!
From the ECU preview:
Pretty sure âcoincidentallyâ would work better. Maybe even âironicallyâ but âoddlyâ?!
This could translate into a very in-side joke sign at the game.
Thatâs a cool story bro. Did you know that according to KenPom last yearâs game against Charlotte registered as the lowest usage rate of his career, at just 15%. We are an improved defense that last year, and if your best player has no presence outside the paint we will absolutely force the rest of the team to beat us.
The big question is which version of our offense shows up. Weâve had huge variance in offensive performance, I hope the team that showed up in Wilmington plays today.
Latest NET has us at #118 and ECU at #238.
Gardner gets almost all of his points around the basket area, either through made shots or getting to the FT line. He is 0-2 this season from 3Pt. Out of his 74 made baskets 58 of those were from in the paint. I donât think that we are a good match up for him because the first thing we do is double inside or even close to the paint. Teams that beat us either do so with good 3pt shooting, 2nd chance points on an offensive rebound, or in transition. It is going to be tough for him or anyone else to just get points in the paint off of an offensive set.
UCF was a top 25 team with one of the best defensive centers in basketball last year in Tacko Fall. Gardner had 35 and 20 on the road in that game. Some games itâs really not going to matter what you do to stop him if itâs one of those days. Heâs already shown the ability to post games only a handful of players are have every decade.
Heâs talking about Charlotte, not UCF.
If he scores 35 today weâll be proud of ECU breaking the 60 point barrier and take our W quietly back to Charlotte.
ummm⌠No. He has not had one of the top 5 games for a player in the last decade nor has he shown the ability. I know you like him and he is a good player, butâŚCâmon Man!!
"Against 13-2 UCF and its 7-foot-6 center, Tacko Fall, Gardner was unreal: he had 35 points and 20 rebounds, putting up a stat line that even Zion Williamson probably wonât duplicate this season. Itâs the first time in AAC history that any player has had a 30/20 double-double.
*Beyond that, any player score 35 points and grab 20 rebounds is a rarity. Thereâs only been seven instances of the that happening in college basketball in the past eight seasons, none of which came from freshmen. *
The 6-foot-6 Gardner has been one of the true surprises of the American Athletic Conference. ECU doesnât yet qualify as a top-10 team in the league, but if Gardner sticks around for another two years, itâs possible his ability and Joe Dooleyâs coaching can get this team into the NCAA Tournament."
Gardner is a great player. I donât think anyone doubts that.
Weâre 1.5 point favorites.
