So what you're saying is he is the exact type of player an MJ/LB-led franchise will bring in?
I’m guessing they’ll deal the pick for a vetern, that seems to be Brown’s style. If they hold the pick, I think it’s Henderson if he is available, he’d be a good guy to learn from Bell. If Henderson isn’t there, I would hope they would go for size. Diaw played pretty well down the stretch, but there’s no depth, Blair wouldn’t be a bad pick. I doubt it would happen, but picking Mullens wouldn’t be the worst thing they could do, but Brown doesn’t seem interested in building for 3-5 years from now.
Mullens would be an awful pick, I still have no idea why he declared or anyone is interested in him.
As for Iverson, he isn’t nearly the player he used to be, so I don’t think there is any need to try something that almost worked 10 years ago. As for his partying, its obviously a distraction and it was stated as a bad influence on the nuggets players early this season before the trade.

This for Iverson. I always thought Dalembert had the potential to be really good, but it doesn’t really matter if he’s a head case or if he just sucks naturally. I don’t think he would be good for the Bobcats.
If we do keep our pick (and I hope we don’t), we’ll probably take Henderson. Which wouldn’t be too bad.
Trivia moment: Did you know that daddy Henderson ended up with 3 NBA championships?

Somebody is going to take him late in the first round, let him develop for 2-3 years and he’ll either turn out better than most other big men in this draft or be another forgotten late 1st rounder. He’s Spencer Hawes, Robert Smith or Andrew Bynum, size and talent but still raw (although Hawes did do more in his one year at UW). There’s probably a 50/50 shot he turns out to be a complete bust, but he could also grow into the potential and become better than any of the other projected late-big men picks.
Yes, you probably want a more established player picking in the lottery like the Bobcats are, but most of the players projected in the second half of the 1st round don’t have very high ceilings. Mullens is one of the few that has huge potential at that point in the draft (Teague and Daye are others).
Should the Bobcats taken Mullens at 12? No, probably not, but I get the feeling that they will end up with a really uninspiring player like Henderson which is going to get them a win or two closer to the 8th seed and a chance to watch Lebron score 40 a game while sweeping them in round 1.
NBA draft special says Charlotte’s high on Williams and that Jordan attended his workout (which he also did with Morrison). I didn’t watch Williams play that much, so I have no idea if this is a good or bad thing.

Williams is explosive, but streaky. Easily could be a fan favorite, shows a lot of charisma on the court, very good dunker.

It was a workout with both Williams and Henderson.

Take away the charisma and you have Henderson.
I do think Henderson is a better and safer pick, I’ll get flack for it b/c I’m partisan towards him, but there are concerns over Williams enigmatic personality, whereas Henderson is the son of an NBA player and understands the business. Offensively, at this point, Henderson is a better player, defensively, I’d say it’s a draw, but probably give it to Williams just b/c he has better size, and could play the 3. Both can play bigger then they are b/c of their athleticism.
I’ve always had issues with selecting a guy with a “higher upside” then someone else (I’m not singling out 2002, scouts do it all the time). How is this even calculated? Someone is either a better player, a better fit, or not. Both guys come from programs that are at similar standings in regards to talent, competition, confs., etc. so they’re games can be compared pretty easily IMO. With that in mind, I just think Henderson has done more. I think people just fear he’ll be the next Dahntay Jones, and not the next mini-Grant Hill.
I just think if they are relatively equals, yet Williams has some potential star power, you have to go with Williams. The organization has to make a name for itself in some capacity.
As for their game, Williams is a streaky shooter, but has better range than Henderson. I agree Henderson is the safer pick, but being safe doesn’t translate into making the leap most of the time.

What is his potential star power? I’m not trying to be a dick, I’m serious. I’ve seen him play and don’t see him as a better player than Henderson.
I agree about the safe pick, but I could also counter with the detriment of picking potential over a known commodity. It’s as easy as saying “With the second pick in the 2003 NBA Draft the Detroit Pistons select Darko…”.

In star power I mean a crowd favorite, an explosive athlete, a very charismatic personality…think like Nate Robinson with the Knicks, but IMO more endearing and genuine.
