And the weekly offering from CCT…

Collegechalktalk.com: A-10 Notebook: Wilson explodes, early power rankings and conference storylines

Have to think Braswell will at least make honor roll again this week even if he only has a mediocre game against Lamar. If he has another CMU performance, he could be player of the week.

Honor Roll Niners: Javarris Barnett and Pierria Henry

Atlantic10.com: Gaston, Brothers, Wright Earn Weekly A-10 Awards - Dec. 26, 2011

While Henry has yet to be named ROTW, he has garnered 6 honor roll selections (out of a possible 7 thus far), so looks like his chances of being named to the All-Rookie team look pretty good at this point.

He’s already won it 3 times on Statsheet.com. They put less emphasis on the scoring “stat”, which helps Henry with their awards.

Won’t have to wait long to see those two on the same court as the Spiders come to town next week.

Offense bias.

Agreed. I don’t think he’s the leading candidate by any stretch. But at this point in the program, any publicity is good publicity.

Week 8 goes to:

POTW: B.J. Monteiro, Duquesne

Co-ROTW: Anthony Lee, Temple
Co-ROTW: Mike Powell, URI

BTW, no Niners on Honor Roll this time.

Atlantic10.com: Monteiro Earns Player, Powell, Lee Named Rookie of the Week - Jan. 2, 2012

While over at CCT, Niners get a grade of “B” for OOC play.

Really thought Henry would finally get a ROTW award, but alas, not to be. Week 9 goes to:

POTW: Khalif Wyatt, Temple

Co-ROTW: Mike Powell, URI
Co-ROTW: Bryan Smith, Fordham

Honor Roll Niners: Javarris Barnett and Pierria Henry

Honor Roll Niners: Javarris Barnett and Pierria Henry[/quote] They do know he’s a freshman right? They must weight points too much in this stuff, hence why two guys on the 2 worst teams end up with the recognition this week. Not a big deal, but Henry deserved it.

It’s week 10 and all I can say is about time for a Niner to honored!

POTW: Andrew Nicholson, St. Bona

Co-ROTW: Pierria Henry, Charlotte
Co-ROTW: Jonathan Holton, URI

Honor Roll Niner: Chris Braswell

Atlantic10.com: Nicholson, Henry, Holton Chosen as Weekly Award Winners

Meanwhile, over at CCT, Niners fall out of the top 5 power rankings (and Ian speaks on that, among other Niner mentions).

Collegechalktalk.com: Atlantic 10 Notebook - Jan. 16, 2012

Week 11 honorees are:

Co-POTW: Tyreek Duren, La Salle
Co-POTW: Matt Kavanaugh, Dayton

ROTW: Jonathan Holton, URI (3-time winner)

Niners on Honor Roll: Chris Braswell and Terrence Williams

Atlantic10.com: Kavanaugh, Duren, Holton Earn A-10 Weekly Honors

And from Ian at CCT…
