i just hope we donāt play anymore 300+ rpi teams. Last year we had 2-3 I think which is awful. we need to hire a full-time pro #1 draft pick schedule maker.
The schedule is a HUGE factor in the success of a program and crucial to gain community support imo. Winning is important and helps, but the casual fan would look at a 5 point loss to a top 25 team better and with more ārespectā than a 20 point win against #300 team.
No one cares about these awful teams. Every team has cupcakes on their schedule, but we seem to want the whole batch.
We need to be and stay visable. Playing teams no one has heard of will keep you in the gutter.
Is it really that hard to schedule OOC games against teams that have a real good shot of being 1-200 rpi?
Lamar has been in the NCAA tournament probably as many times as we have over the last 15yrs. I have not check the numbers, they have had good teams over the years.
As of last year I knew almost nothing about Lamar, I just vaguely knew of them in the same way I know of a team like IUPUI (that stands out because of their strange name). They seem to be growing pretty fast though, and everything Iāve read online indicates that they could be in the WAC very soon (in all sports, including football).
I dont think so, but I think they started fball recently as well.
They just brought football back last year (after being disbanded in the 80s) and almost beat a top 15 FCS team in their first game, which is pretty ridiculous.
The 49ers are talking to two other ACC schools, but nothingās been firmed up yet. Charlotte had an offer from another ACC school on Dec. 3 (it would have been on the road), but couldnāt get the East Carolina game moved.
If I read that correctly, thatās three ACC teams that we have talked to beyond Miami. I wonder who they are? Iām going to assume itās not Duke or UNC. Maybe VaTech since we have a connection through Odom. Any thoughts on the others? Regardless of what we think around here, the ACC has prestige and any chance to beat one of them at their place is great.
Id say Virginia Tech is a good guess. Also NC State, Clemson, or GT?

IUPUI (eewie peewie) actually has 37,500 students and an endowment that is 6 X larger than our beloved UNC Charlotte. Iāve hardly ever heard of them, save for them making the NCAAās one year I believe, but damnā¦
north carolina central is not the pushover that we think they are. they have a kid named dominique sutton who will be eligible this year after transferring from kansas state. he averaged like eight points per game and was their best defensive player. he was pursued by the acc when he transferred but decided to go to central instead to be close to his family.
New game added via Josh and NinerReport.com. Is there a complete schedule posted here?
Since it hasnāt been posted here, Iām assuming it is against a less than stellar opponent.
