I was not thrilled with the hire. That said, I have decided this is going to be our guy for several years to come. Let’s get behind him. We now have new excitement coming our way, our first incoming class!
As names start to pop up, I think we will really get into the football spirit. This is really happening guys!
It might be easiest to see who other FCS programs in the general area are targeting and compile a list of those guys. This will at least give us some guidance on what we’re looking for.
2k may have to quit his day job now that he will have to be a football recruiting guru as well!

We won’t be getting many, if any, of those recruits our first year. Maybe in Year 2 or 3, but anyone worth their salt is unlikely to come to a start up program where they know they are going to sit out their first year. 2K will have his hands full trying to figure out who we even have a shot at getting, because they’ll likely not be on any of the recruiting sites.
We’re going to have to start a seperate football recruiting board. It’ll overwhlem basketball otherwise. Will be looking for a serious mod for the board too. Someone willing to put the time and effort into keeping the threads updated and properly maintained.

The flipside of this is that the guys who do come in for 2012 all have a great shot to be 4 year starters which is not an opportunity most football players get.
If we get any 2 star recruits in our first class, we should rejoice like we just signed a 4 star guy for basketball.
some 2011 recruits will be in our 2013 class as transfers. Will be interesting to follow the D1 guys from NC & SC over the next 2 years.
maybe this has been said, but couldn’t being apart of history by playing for the Charlotte 49ers first football team be a recruiting tool? (i know we had something of a football team long ago I was born)
Now I don’t think a player is gonna choose us over Alabama, but I think we may steal some players from other schools early on possibly.
I’m drinking the koolaid, but I don’t think we are gonna be as bad as some 1st year programs. I predict a winning season.
if ODU can win 17 games it’s first 2 seasons, no reason we can’t do the same.
