It would appear that it is set in stone when the Charlotter 49ers will play their first football game ever! Whoever confirms the opponent of this game on NN.N will become a legend as well as the remaining opponents of our inaugural schedule.

[font=courier]08/31 CAMPBELL

09/14 NC CENTRAL
09/21 at Old Dominion
09/28 at Presbyterian

I would like to posit a guess.

Gardner-Webb

I see our first opponent being D2.

Davidson

This. And it needs to be a winnable game. 8)

Catawba
Elon
Livingston

Thats my knowledge of low teir football teamsā€¦lol.

Does Johnson C Smith have a football squad? We could whip them in football too I guess.

Elon is FCS. I doubt weā€™ll play them honestly. Weā€™ll either play a DII school to (likely) ensure a win or play a bcs opponent to ensure a big pay day.

Here is a set of likely teams:

My guess is Davidson. Rivalry and a very winnable game.

Isnā€™t the Davidson Football coach a Charlotte alum?

Not Elon. Theyā€™d kill us. ODU started against Chowan. GSU will start against Shorter. Iā€™m calling a 27-17 win against the braves of UNCP.

Dude, Elon is an above average FCS programā€¦I think your ā€œknowledgeā€ of low tier teams is a little lacking. ;D

My guess: DII Wingate University Bulldogs

Catawba is not a bad D2 school at all either. Constantly winning 8+ games a year

By lower tier, I meant not FBS or whatever. Wasnā€™t referring to if the team was good in their division or not. I really donā€™t follow a lot of college football in the lower tiers. Iā€™m thinking Charlotte 49er Football will change all this.

Side note: I think college football needs more games, maybe like 15. NFL and college basketball needs to be 9 months of the year with both not over at the same time. These past 6 months have been awful.

How about Campbell, Jacksonville (FL) and Dayton?

JC Smithā€¦at homeā€¦we win 38-6.

Let me know so I can wear a bullet proof vest. Thanks.

A few years ago many college Presidents moaned and whaled when they added the 12th game. No way in hell they go past 12 regular season games without BILLIONS more in revenue. Same goes for basketball. Every time a player plays he risks injury. No ones but the fans win if they add more games and when was the last time the fans won anything?

I am thinking, Lenoir Rhyne, JCSU, Wingate
