Freshman Matt Horkey is making his 1st collegiate start today against High Point. He pitched 3 innings on Saturday so I am sure he will be on a low pitch count.

You just asked me to save the entire bar for you.
We will check with Barry and see if they will open the upstairs for us.
It was throwback night at The Hayes. We brought out some home unis we hadn’t worn in awhile and played like an A-10 team. Good times.

I didn’t get a chance to follow the game tonight, but I see that we left 13 runners on base. We struggled with that against Rice this weekend.
I guess the new ball HAS improved hitting…for some teams anyway:
High Point batters Charlotte 49ers for 18 hits in baseball win.

HP game was fluky I think. Our staff has looked MUCH better in all other games, especially the weekend guys. All three with ERAs of ~1.

Tonight’s game has been postponed. DH tomorrow starting at 2:00.
Lost the double header yesterday. We were tied at 3 after 6 innings of game 2. Bullpen gave up 15 runs in the last 3 innings.
Lost today 5-1. Pitching was good, we just have to work so hard to manufacture runs there’s little room for error. On the positive though, what a beautiful perfect day to watch a baseball game. 8)
We really struggle to manufacture runs, and that was something we used to do really well. In the past we have had lots of speed guys that could get on, steal a base, get bunted over and then driven in. Now it seems the only way we can score is by getting doubles. This is where losing Des Roberts and Mikal Hill hurt us this year.
As for the FAU series, i think we took a step back from the way we played against Rice. Nice to see some guys finally hit the ball out of the yard, but our bullpen problems have gotten worse. They definitely showed us why they were the 5th ranked offense in the country. I thought our starting pitching did pretty good, but once you get deeper, things drop off.
Back to back mid week games start today with UMES. Vogler on the mound for his first start of the season.
17-5 We needed that.
Certainly needed a game like that. Hopefully it can lead to the guys batting with more confidence.
Pitching depth is really getting tested as we play 5 games in 5 days.Trevor Gay making his first career start today against Presby.
