Winthrop has announced that we will be playing against them in a game Uptown this season.
That’s 2 games uptown so far for us in 2016. Schedule is supposed to be released Wednesday.

I’m pretty sure the first two games will be against Georgia Bulldogs and one of them will be at the BB&T Park, so that’s 3 games there.

Interesting. I have heard there is a press conference tomorrow at BB&T Ballpark. It coincides with our schedule release.
Also, from Wintrhop’s schedule, it appears they will be the home team in the Uptown game. They also play us at the Hayes in May.
I was looking around at baseball schedules for other in state universities and noticed UNCheat and the Cocks will be playing in Charlotte on April 12th. I’m guessing this will be at BB&T as well. I’m curious to know if any other college teams will be coming in to play in uptown.

The funny thing is USC will probably have more fans there than the tarholes.
I like that we have gone from 1 game at BB&T to 3 this year.
Any chance this can lead to a high quality tournament at the beginning of future seasons? Would love to get some high level teams from the north to come down here for a 4-team tournament.

[size=2]Hopefully these games are successful this year and we could find a sponsor to put on an early season tournament in the next few years. Being the 1st 2 baseball games uptown in 2016, I think that our 2 home games vs Georgia and NC State will be pretty successful. I know there was some red at the game last year, but our crowd was very solid. I think with a little effort, our 2 home games could match last years success. It will be very interesting to see how the Winthrop folks do with their ‘home’ game against us there.
I think we could get together with Winthrop and bring in some pretty good teams to play here. [font=verdana]Winthrop used to host an early season tournament at their place each year. Grab a ‘local’ SEC/ACC team, and a well-known Northeastern team, and I think that would be successful.[/font][/size]
