Citadel fired their coach today, Chuck Driesell.

David Carter out at Nevada after five seasons and no NCAA appearances, something the Wolf Pack had become accustomed to under predecessors Mark Fox and Trent Johnson.

Bartow out at ETSU

Per Jeff Goodman, Oliver Purnell resigns after 5 seasons at DePaul.

Pink slips for Anthony Grant (Alabama) and Paul Hewitt (George Mason). Don’t know if UA and GMU consulted Tom Sorensen or not before going public! ::slight_smile:

Can’t figure out the grant firing. Alabama must be pissed about Auburn getting Pearl? Thought Anthony Grant was an up-and-comer. Avg for 6 seasons was 19-20 wins 10-11 losses. Did he diddle the AD’s daughter? son?

Well, the Bama coach getting strange on the side would definitely not be out of the ordinary. #Gottfried

Didn’t terry do something like this at Auburn?

Yeah, he allegedly got with the wife or daughter of a big-time AU donor. Like, BIG TIME. It would be the equivalent of one of our coaches and Mac Everett’s daughter.

I can. One NCAA appearance in 6 seasons (2012: one-and-done loss to Creighton) and sub .500 SEC record this year (T-8) and 2013-14 (T-10).

Well, he’s at Alabama. You think he has the same resources Saban has? My guess is Alabama sees Pearl over at Aurbun an is like, “Oh crap!”, that guy is going to eat us alive soon, we better find someone else so we at least look like we are doing something.

Alabama fans could more or less give a crap about basketball, as long as they’re better than Auburn. The quantity of sniping out of Tuscaloosa skyrocketed this year. Pearl came in and season ticket sales increased by 350 percent. And for the first time since they moved into the new arena, men’s basketball is outdrawing gymnastics. Seriously.

Bill Grier out after 8 seasons at San Diego with a lone NCAA appearance during his initial campaign and more recently a game fixing scandal.

Steve Donahue returns to the Ivy as the new coach at Penn, where he served as an assistant to Fran Dunphy prior to HC stints at Cornell and Boston College.

Pecora out at Fordham.

Per ESPN, former Princeton and Northwestern coach Bill Carmody will take over at Holy Cross.

Meanwhile, Syracuse “punishes” Jim Boeheim by sacking AD Dr. Daryl Gross and placing the former on a three year retirement tour. ::slight_smile:

Parrish reporting Indiana assistant and former Wyoming HC Steve McLain tabbed for the vacancy at Illinois Chicago.
