2015 Men's Hoops Coaching Carousel

HoopDirt reporting Turner has said “no” to G Mas. Other finalist was NCCU’s LeVelle Moton, but no indication if he’s been offered.
Chris Mullin expected to take the St. John’s job:

No previous head coaching experience, don’t even think he’s been an assistant anywhere.
NBA front office guy, so will be following Fred Hoiberg model of trying to resurrect alma mater sans any college coaching experience.

He already has a closet full of orange hats with a “T” on them, so he might as well go.

Dave Paulsen of Bucknell leaves the Patriot League to lead the Patriots of the A-10.

Head Bearcat Mick Cronin has been cleared by his doctor to return to the sidelines at Cincinnati next season. Interim coach Larry Davis (16-9 during Cronin’s medical leave) has been mentioned for several vacancies, including that of nearby Northern Kentucky.

This guy is a real patriot.

Reports saying OK State considering buying out Travis Ford’s contract.

Reportedly his buyout is at $9.6 million, must be nice to have Mr. Pickens on your side.

I’m surprised that Moton has not left nccu yet and been snapped up for one of these vacancies. Anyone else surprised?

Well, if you believe the piece in the Herald-Sun, he’s had offers both collegiate (HC or assistant at a higher level program) and professional (assistant) every year he’s been in Durham. Interesting he was a finalist for the G Mas job but apparently not offered when the initial top candidate declined. Hmm…

$2.25m per year for Barnes at Tennessee.

Gregg Marshall went through a similar situation at Winthrop. Not too terribly surprising, people always have reservations about the success translating to the next level.

He’s not going to jump from NCCU to a major program and some of the openings would be lateral moves.

Boy! Is Bobby gonna be pissed. Sorry for ncsu’s future now.

Replaced by New Mexico assistant Lamont Smith, a USD alum.

Liberty decides to give Ritchie McKay a second try as well. (FWIW, had seen Lutz listed as a possible candidate for this position when Jerry Falwell U. parted ways with Dale Layer.)

Texas has offered Smart their position. Marshall staying at WSU (new deal) and won’t visit Bama. Marshall now at $3.3 million per year :o

I wonder if Wade has contacted Bama. That could be a good fit. We need Just-Sayin on here to keep us updated.
