2018-19 C-USA Basketball Predictions, Scores, and Rankings

Are tickets to the davidson and wake games available though our ticket office now?

Away Game Tickets – Typically, away game tickets are not made available through the 49ers Ticket Office. Occasionally, the Athletic Foundation and/or Alumni Association may arrange a group event for away games. If so, that information will be shared in separate correspondence. If you have any questions, please call 704-687-4949.

So what’s the best way to get away tix that will be with other NINERS?

clt says Davidson has a Biergarten in the arena now

As C-USA begins it’s 24th season of men’s college basketball this week, here are the respective openers.

Tuesday, November 6th

LA Tech @ Wichita State

Angelo State (D-II) @ North Texas

Navy @ ODU

St. Leo (D-II) @ Rice

Southeastern Baptist* @ Southern Miss

*NOTE: Southeastern Baptist College (Laurel, MS) has revived it’s men’s basketball program after nearly a 30 year hiatus and SBC athletics are looking to join either the Association of Christian College Athletics or the National Christian College Association

Mercer @ UAB

UT Permian Basin (D-II) @ UTEP

WKU @ #25/#24 Washington

Wednesday, November 7th

Florida Tech (D-II) @ FAU

Webber International (NAIA) @ FIU

Marshall @ Eastern Kentucky

St. Edward’s (D-II) @ UTSA

Media markets do not mean what they used to for conference affiliation, but being in BFE means you cannot get real teams to come to your campus. Something to think about if we start to realign geographically.

Actually has nothing to do with getting “real teams” to come to Hattiesburg. Just Doc Sadler continuing the USM “cupcake” tradition started by Larry Eustachy. In addition to SBC, Southern Miss will play NAIA William Carey (Hattiesburg, MS), D-III Millsaps (Jackson, MS), and NAIA Rust (Holly Springs, MS).

Toppers actually led 36-27 at halftime.

In the past we just made sure we all bought in the same section. I’m trying to decide if I want to go through the pain up there again.

Yeah I am, but decided last night not to go to any other road games. Was looking forward to going up to Winston-Salem, not now.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, FAU, FIU, Marshal, and UTSA tip off their respective seasons today.

League was 8-2 last night and since three of four tonight are versus non-D-I, should be in double digit wins after the openers.

FWIW, heralded WKU frosh Charles Bassey had 11 pts, 12 rebs, 2 blocks and 2 steals in his college debut vs Washington. On the negative side, only 1-4 on FTs and fouled out in 28 minutes of action.

C-USA goes 11-3 in openers. And way to go Roadrunners!

Florida Tech 52
FAU 98

Webber International 84
FIU 110

In addition to LA Tech’s opening day win over Wichita State and the Niners comeback over OK State, C-USA can add the following victories over major conference opponents in today’s action:

FAU 80
UCF 79

Southern Miss 74
SMU 64

FAU win particularly surprising since UCF the preseason pick to win the AAC.

First C-USA players of the week (11-12-2018):

Charles Bassey, FR 6-11 C, WKU - FOTW
