2020-21 Men’s Basketball Schedule & Opponents

Okay posting this as a reset since I was confused about the non conference schedule.

  • Talking with @itsbraille49 about our non conference schedule. I had been just casually watching for updates, but I see our official site still hasn’t been updated, so I’m not sure how many of these are subject to change.

  • 11/27 vs TENNESSEE (Kissimmee, FL)
11/29 vs PENN STATE/VCU (Kissimmee, FL)
    12/7 SC STATE
    12/5 @ DAVIDSON
    12/8 EAST CAROLINA
    12/11 APPALACHIAN STATE

  • It’s just getting awfully close not to post the schedule.

  • I will state some aggressive opinion here, but with Davidson being a middle of the road A10 team (picked 7th in preseason A10 poll), and getting ECU and App at home, I’d really like to make it through this slate at 5-1 or 4-2 at the worst. Time to assert ourselves

  • I hope the rest of our fanbase has similar expectations

I assumed it was just tenn and vcu @ tenn. no? When was PEnn added?

NA beat me to it.

The SC State game is on 12/7 according to their recent article. South Carolina State University Athletics - SC State Men’s Basketball Announce Non-Conference Schedule

The UT (11-25) and VCU (11-26) games are in Knoxville.

Also, I think I read somewhere that we were not playing ECU this year. Looking at their posted schedule they have a game with UNCW on 12/7 so I doubt we would play them on the 8th.

11/25 vs TENNESSEE @ UT
11/26 vs VCU @ UT
12/5 vs GA ST
12/7 vs SC STATE
12/11 APPALACHIAN STATE

Davidson game is in there somewhere but I have not seen a date. My guess is between 11/26 and 12/5.

Win at home protect what we achieved last year and start winning on the road. Time for us to take the next step. I look forward to bitching about CUSA sucking with us at the top vs is being part of the reason.

aren’t we playing georgia state on nov 15th, valparaiso on dec 21st and george washington on dec 22nd? and also shouldn’t we have had the longwood game today?

To be clear, I don’t want this, but I’m growing concerned it’s going to happen.

What would be worse is if it became a somewhat permanent thing. Like if Duke limited its non conference to just 4 or 5 games against other blue bloods.

FWIW, really surprised that C-USA didn’t go to a 20 game schedule for this season. Of course, that’s no guarantee that all the conference games will get played but certainly would make scheduling easier.

With the first announced postponement of a game due to COVID-19 - Stetson vs Miami-FL - definitely going to be others.

Ivy league will not play winter sports this season.

Obviously with Covid…things are crazy…but I just realized I never got a bball season ticket form.

Curious what attendance will look like at games. Family and some students like football?

Thursday night.

Thanks. I completely forgot.

Edit: Wait that says 11/19 so that would be Thursday not tonight.

I am assuming very limited crowd. Basically only 600 folks per King Cooper.
