2020 Niner Baseball Thread

Dang, we need some of that!

Sure hope they aren’t hazing each other again, now with boat paddles. :smiling_imp:

The P3 guys were back on campus this weekend. Nice video talking about the partnership with Niner Baseball.

It looked like some of these guys are in the witness protection program. Somebody buy our cameraman a light!

Those P3 guys surely are putting the fun back into baseball.

We’ve signed 6 JUCO RHPs within the last month. All have a similar profile: 6’2”-6’5”, 205-210 Lbs (1 is 270) and they all throw in the low to mid 90s. Some have pretty good stats, others not so impressive, but they all can bring the heat. I’m interested to see how we develop these guys.

clt says you cannot teach size.

Big time congrats Sam! Pretty special to see one of our own commit to an original #P3CPP school! https://t.co/jtYvOJtYPy

Nice to see P3 retweeting our commits and calling us an original #P3CPP school. Certainly can’t hurt recruit pitchers knowing they will have this kind of access for professional development.

Schedule released today. Home series’ wth ECU & VCU non-conference games. H-H with NC State, Wake, Coastal. Road trip to Tennessee. Another tough schedule. If we are successful, this scheduling gets us an at-large. Gotta win some games though. Wake and NCSU games are Uptown.

Great schedule. Looking forward to playing ECU at home this year.

Excited to see this new group take the field.

If you’ve been plugged into the feedback from Charlotte-area baseball families over the last 15 years, a consistent them has been how notably sporadic and intermittently absent our baseball recruiting has been here. The routine comment has been how “mystified” they’ve been at the relative disregard for local talent. Contrast that with this tweet from our Head Coach’s Twitter page tonight.

Our Coach’s Tweet Concerning Local Players

That is awesome!

There definitely is a lot of buzz around baseball this offseason, great to see.

We’ve always recruited locally. Most college teams do. We have lost out to Ricko’s Tar Holes on lots of local talent, including some guy named Woodard a few years back.
I don’t know who told Ricko about local families being “mystified”. Could have been the UPS man.
(Apologies to those not on this board long enough to get the UPS reference)

FWIW we have the 89th ranked 2020 recruiting class according to PG. hard to take much away from these rankings but nice to see some recognition.

These rankings only include the HS players committed. We also have a very strong class of JUCOs committed in the 2020 class. Looking to add 1 or 2 more studs before signing day. Fingers crossed.

5 CUSA teams in top 100.

45 FAU
77 ODU
79 USM
89 Charlotte
97 MTSU

$100 or $250. That would be a hard pass.

This is basically a fundraiser similar to the Gold Rush in Halton. Have no problem with high profile events like this. Need to rub shoulders and build relationships with more people with deep pockets.

Here is our write-up on the 2020 recruiting class.
