First half thoughts:

Cannon is playing well
Khalifa hits 2 threes
Missed 2 easy layups that caused us 4pts. There were more missed but at least they were contested.
5pt swing on a missed foul on Young and a fast break 3 on the other end.
Refs are inconsistent.
Butler is holding the ball too long when he gets it. Shot it, make a basketball move or pass it. Stop letting the D get reset.

Not sure why I expected Sanchez to do anything this year, even though we clearly have talented individuals. Our players literally get worse after arriving here…exhibit A…Austin Butler. He WAS a big time player at HC…looks like dog shit now.

Butler has been really bad. But is playing the whole game. Cannon provided a spark and is riding the bench. Meanwhile we look completely lost on offense. That’s all on the Head Freaking Coach. Clueless.

I agree with many of the earlier posts regarding Sanchez. I just don’t think that he was what Hill thought he would be. Being an Assistant at Virginia where he wasn’t primarily running the show to becoming a head coach just didn’t transfer. I know that many would say that such a hire would’ve been a home run, and I was one that was extremely excited to hear we had bagged him, but it just didn’t work out. You can hide flaws in talent on and off the court with ACC caliber players, however at our level, those flaws get exposed really quickly. We need a coach with true head coaching experience that has shown to take lower level teams and turn them into diamonds. It doesn’t need to be a brand name or a flavor of the month. Give me a “in the trenches” Coach that is in your face and truly knows, not just the game, but how to coach all levels of talent.
