Good win. Khalifa needs to live in the weight room. He could be a stud
Khalifa is only a freshman. Thinking he could really be something with some more S&C time.
I wasnāt sure about Sanchez pulling Threadgill late, but Jallow came in and made key defensive plays and hit the last 2 free throws. That was a good decision.
Without exaggerating he could be a Bryant Reeves type dude. Work on your body and be a stud
To Sanchezās credit, we outscored them by 11 in the 2nd half to win. Still want to see more Young/Khalifa pick and roll (maybe with Threadgill and Braswell in the corners in case the defense collapses).
ODU did not seem like a strong team. Glad to see we didnāt lose.
And I decided to stay up past my bed-time to watch my computer to explodeā¦
if we could be equal rebounding that could have been an 15-18 point win
or if we took away the 10 minute scoring drought
Iām glad the team found some life in that 2nd half. There was a series of 3 possessions where Khalifa was having his way inside. Very impressive for a freshman big guy.
I feel like we lose that game if we didnāt have only 6 turnovers.
Young is very much the calming backbone of this team. He waits a little too late in games to assert himself but always seems to come alive in the 2nd half.
Butler hit some timely 3s and drives when we needed them.
It wasnāt pretty and ODU isnāt that great of a team but itās a W. Keep winning.
Glad we got the win! There were stretches we looked really good but there were also stretches we looked really bad.
I liked the effort we displayed and glad to see Garcia play.
Not sure what to think about playing them back to back. The better coach will make the right adjustments.
Sanchez better beat ODU on Saturday too. ODU (200+ team) is not a team we should lose to.
clt says to send this to our coaches!
Fwiw, Sanchez killed a clipboard during a timeoutā¦

The first half was frustrating as good shots were falling. I counted seven solid shots in the paint that didnāt go in. Then ODU seemed to not be able to miss.
What I saw those was the team didnāt panic during ODU 16-0 run. They kept looking for good shots and continued to battle. In the past during those stretches they have started forcing bad shots that led to easy baskets for the opponent.
The second half was a different intensity and feel. Shots started falling and the defense intensity picked up. Next step is to fix some of the bad rebounding although some of that tonight was simple the size advantage ODU had on the inside.
More Isiah !
Brings life and excitement to the offense.
Looking at the rest of schedule, 7-4 is a realistic expectation. That would put us at 18-11 and 11-6 in the conference. I would love to finish better than this, but this is probably good enough for Sanchez to keep his job.
Going by ESPN matchup predictor, we are only favored in 4 of the 11 remaining games. Maybe I need to lower my expectations.
