Anyone care to speculate if Woods and Dorn would have stayed if Odom replaced Major instead of Price?
If we had only kept Odom is 20/20 Hindsight. Ninernation would have been in an uproar with talk of cancelling season tickets if Judy had gone with Odom at that time. (it is fun to speculate though)
Odum was not Odum at that point.
They would have stayed
First vacancy in C-USA MBB:
New TTU coach Adams following example of predecessor Beard in selecting assistants:
I had to read that one twice, I thought finally!
Poobably one of Bobby’s Texas “cousins”!
Interesting recent decisions by a couple of schools that have “stuck by their man” since the scandal broke in 2017. Arizona fires Miller, while Kansas makes Self “coach for life” who cannot be fired for cause even if the school ends up being sanctioned by the NCAA.
Another school going with the star alum:
Cincinnati fires John Brannen after 2 seasons. I figured that a program that has had the success of Cincinnati over a long period of time would be in a better position to hire familiar coaches / promote assistants than to go the low major route for a head coach. Wonder what they do this time.
The problem with Brannen wasn’t his coaching pedigree. Two NCAAs and one NIT during his four seasons across the river at NKU and an AAC regular season championship with Cincy in 2020.
Anyway, UC does have a history of hiring outside of the so-called power programs. Mick Cronin came from Murray State and Bob Huggins was at Akron before leading the Bearcats.
That being said, could see a “name” as the new coach:
Latest update from Norlander and his thoughts on the Cincy opening:
Not only would we not have to fire him next year and pay him to go away but we’d pocket half a million in a buyout and get a fresh start a year early. I can’t believe how well this might work out. Lots of good coaching names on the market and this is the year to make a change with the transfer free agent market so saturated. Fingers crossed.

Tang - Baylor AHC
Golding - Abilene Christian HC
Jans - New Mexico State HC
Patrick - Arkansas AHC
Sadler - seriously?!
Ferry just spent this past season serving as interim coach of Penn State following the ouster of Pat Chambers.
