It’s kinda hilarious watching top rated players decommit from some of the top teams in the country.
Since he now knows his dream job in Charlotte is off the table till about that time, why not?
So six of the top 10 are aac.
And 247 still has us with like 8 recruits.
Seven, we just aren’t being shown. Please, please, please everyone, underestimate Biff. Muhahaha!
I checked to see how many of these had someone actively working their 247 account. It appears to be 10/10.
I don’t have a subscription, but I would like to read his discussion regarding “why not more P5/G5 bowls”.
Basically the bowls prefer P5 vs P5 because those institutions typically bring more fans, bigger TV viewership, etc and P5s don’t want to play G5 schools.
It’s amazing how the big boys change their opinions based on how it impacts them. The NIL will still be a battle that the P5 will always win over the G5, however I think they are scared of the Portal as this can easily and fairly rapidly allow the G5 to somewhat compete with the P5 on the field. I’m sure the NCAA will muck up the Portal if enough P5 teams and their financiers cry loud enough.
They will probably create some stupid rule that transfers from G5 to P5 can instantly play, but going the other direction requires for the player to sit 1 year. Im being a bit facetious, but probably not too far off.
They could do this fairly easily by making a rule that players have to give up their NIL deals to transfer.
I don’t think the courts will ultimately go for that, but in the meantime, P5 kids aren’t gonna transfer out to a G5 and give up the . Won’t stop a single G5 kid from moving up though.
This is Maryland vs NC State and they can barely fill the lower bowl.
Yikes.
This has been a common theme throughout the bowls so far. I’m sure weather has had something to do with it, but all bowl games seem to have had disappointing attendance.
Many per the camera views have been damn near embarrassing. Especially the ones that were played at smaller G5 stadiums and entire attendance wouldn’t even fill half of the lower section of one side.
Bowl games get good TV ratings that is why they exist.
The move from exhibitions to a playoff system with some kind of stakes is long overdue. It should reinvigorate attendance figures.
I’d rather host a 1st round CFP game than play in a random bowl in the midwest or whatever against another team who’s fans also had to travel 8+ hours to get there. The only bowls like this that ever really made any sense to me were the destination bowls in sunny climates. At least the kids enjoy it and traveling fans can make a mini vacation out of it.
