Looked up their stats. Pilloli (sp?) batted .261, but Gino Groover was their leading hitter. Not sure if Groover got his wish to play shortstop, but he did play first base in their last game against the Holes.
Hope those guys enjoy their off season.
I thought UTSA was in for sure. Amazing that the 5th rated conference in RPI only got 2 bids and barely got that.
Here is who got in that we played this season.
1 Southern Miss (11) -at large
1 Louisville (12) - at large
1 North Carolina (10)- ACC Tournament Champion
2 Louisiana Tech*- C-USA Tournament Champion
3 Campbell* - Big South Tournament Champion
3 Coastal Carolina - at-large
3 Connecticut* - Big East Tournament Champion
We were 4-9 against the tournament field.
The AAC was a 1-bid league this year with ECU winning the regular season and the Tournament. They earned a Top 8 seed which surprises since they lost weekend series to Bryant and College of Charleston.
Next year’s conference mate Dallas Baptist made it in as an at-large 3 seed and will face LaTech in the Texas Regional.
Is the AAC tournament in Clearwater again next year ?
I don’t know the contract details but they’ve had it there since they were known as the Big East and every year since the AAC started.
The C-USA Tournament is supposed to be hosted by Rice next season.

So we’re another year in CUSA ?
I think the '22-'23 school year will be the last. There is a very small chance we could move earlier, but that window is rapidly closing.
The exit fees etc preventing Cincy, UCF, and Houston from leaving AAC are in the process of being worked out. I suspect it will get done by August / September and announced then that it’s their last year in the league.
clt says we need Rice to be Rice again
I’m starting to think there is a faint possibility the selection process is less than fair.
They did not allow their best coach ever to retire on his own terms. They are getting just what they deserve.
Early indication : top of the third in Knoxville…Campbell 5 Ga Tech 0
Later indication: VCU 4 Cheat 3.
Cheat lost on the scoreboard but had a substantial win in the whining dept.
Go get 'em Ga Bulldogs. Eliminate those Tah Holes like yesterday’s burrito.
